More information<ul><li>Job type: Permanent, full time</li><li>Start date: asap</li><li>Salary: £31,584</li><li>Location: Quainton, Buckinghamshire, HP22 4DE but willing to travel to other sites</li><li>Reports To: Site Manager</li><li>A full UK driving licence and use of own vehicle will be required for this position.</li></ul> Key ResponsibilitiesHabitat Creation &amp; Restoration<ul><li>Assist with the establishment and maintenance of diverse habitats such as wildflower meadows, wetlands, woodland edges, and scrubland.</li><li>Carry out planting, seeding, and translocation of native species aligned with rewilding principles.</li></ul> Invasive Species Control<ul><li>Identify and remove non-native or invasive species using manual, mechanical, or chemical control methods as appropriate.</li><li>Support ecological balance by promoting native flora and fauna.</li></ul> Land Management &amp; Ecological Enhancements<ul><li>Undertake sustainable land management practices to support biodiversity and carbon capture.</li><li>Construct and maintain habitat features like ponds, hibernacula, wildlife corridors, and pollinator banks.</li></ul> Soil and Vegetation Monitoring<ul><li>Monitor plant growth, soil health, and ecological indicators to track habitat development.</li><li>Assist in data collection to support environmental reporting and project evaluation.</li></ul> Tool and Machinery Operation<ul><li>Safely operate a variety of landscaping tools and machinery (e.g., strimmer, brush cutters, chainsaws, hand tools).</li><li>Conduct regular equipment checks and basic maintenance.</li></ul> Site Preparation and Aftercare<ul><li>Prepare land for conservation works, including fencing, mulching, turf removal, or ground levelling.</li><li>Provide ongoing aftercare to ensure establishment of vegetation and habitats.</li></ul> Collaboration and Communication<ul><li>Work closely with ecologists, project managers, and other field teams to ensure smooth delivery of projects.</li><li>Communicate effectively with clients, landowners, and the public when needed, promoting the ethos of Ecosulis and its rewilding mission.</li></ul> Sustainability and Health &amp; Safety Compliance<ul><li>Follow health and safety procedures at all times, ensuring safe working practices in outdoor environments.</li><li>Promote and adhere to Ecosulis’ sustainability goals and environmental best practices.</li></ul> Adaptability and Travel<ul><li>Work across multiple sites, sometimes in remote or challenging terrain and weather conditions.</li><li>Be flexible to travel and stay overnight when required, as projects may be located throughout the UK.</li></ul> ExperienceEssential<ul><li>Previous Landscaping or Environmental Project Experience Demonstrated hands-on experience working on landscaping or environmental projects, ideally involving land management, ecological restoration, or site preparation. Familiarity with using tools and machinery, planting schemes, and working in outdoor, site-based environments.</li></ul>Desirable<ul><li>Experience in Habitat Creation Projects Previous involvement in projects aimed at creating or enhancing habitats such as wildflower meadows, wetlands, woodland planting, or pond creation.
