You will set up tracking, reporting, and clean accounting data for the growing trading business, building the infrastructure that allows our bilateral and physical power business to scale.</span></div><div> </div><div><strong style="font-size:11pt;">Location: </strong><span style="font-size:11pt;">In office hybrid, Cupertino, CA or Houston, TX</span></div><div><span style="font-size:11pt;">We value the ability to work and collaborate in-person, so Gridmatic has a hybrid policy of 50% in-office.</span></div><br><br><h3>What you might work on: </h3><ul><li><strong>Trade Lifecycle Management:</strong> Own the end-to-end capture and confirmation process for bilateral, physical, and non-standard electricity trades.</li><li><strong>Data Integrity</strong>: Own the data quality of trade settlements, cash, and associated risk to ensure accurate reporting and database management. Prepare invoices and systematize their timing.</li><li><strong>Financial Reporting:</strong> Build dashboards and reports to present results to the front and middle office. Facilitate monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting and PnL reconciliations across multiple teams.</li><li><strong>External Relations:</strong> Act as the primary point of contact for external counterparties regarding confirmations and billing disputes. Collaborate with external auditing teams if necessary</li></ul><h3>You might be a good fit if you have:</h3><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance</li><li>3-5yrs+ experience interacting with a trading business – specifically in energy or power markets</li><li>Understanding of financial accounting principles and commodity trading</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and advanced formulas, with error checking</li><li>Attention to detail and comfort admitting mistakes</li><li>Clear and consistent communication abilities</li><li>An entrepreneurial and collaborative mindset</li></ul><h3>Not required, but would be great if you also had:</h3><ul><li>Experience with python and SQL to analyze and visualize data</li><li>Experience working at a physical power marketer, including the nuances of bilateral power contracts (ISDAs, EEIs) and ISO settlements</li></ul><br><div><span style="font-size:16px;">Join our team and make a difference!
