This role will primarily collaborate with Design, Stress, Systems &amp; Safety, Manufacturing, Flight Testing, and Certification teams.</span></div><br><br><h3>How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:</h3><ul><li>Review and approve 2D &amp; 3D drawing datasets.</li><li>Perform hand calculations and FEA to ensure product integrity at minimum weight.</li><li>Analyze metallic and composite components, including joints and installations in aircraft for both static and vibration driven environments.</li><li>Develop and build prototypes and run experiments to inform future designs.</li><li>Analyze products for certification based on requirements, and accepted means of compliance.</li><li>Create documentation to support certification deliverables.</li><li>Define and prepare certification test plans, execute and report results to FAA or delegated authorities.</li><li>Collaborate with internal and external manufacturing resources to minimize cost and improve manufacturability.</li><li>Integrate supplier activities that support structural substantiation of source-controlled products, set priorities, provide guidance and requirements, and review their work in detail.</li></ul><h3>Minimum Qualifications:</h3><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering or related degree from an accredited University.</li><li>Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in an industry setting.</li><li>Proven track record in developing products through a full product life cycle – concept, prototype, validated design, certification and full-scale production.</li><li>Demonstrated experience in structural substantiation on FAA certification programs.</li><li>Ability to perform hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis.</li><li>Highly proficient in one or more FEA tools (e.g. MSC Patran/ Nastran, FEMAP, Altair Hypermesh) for creation and validation of Finite Element Models.</li><li>Composite sizing experience, knowledge of industry best practices and methodologies (CMH-17, AC20-107B, ASTM, FAR 23 and 27 requirements).</li><li>Proficiency of 3D CAD software (3DX Catia V6 preferred).</li><li>Excellent technical writing and communication skills</li><li>Experienced working in production environments, making real-time decisions in resolving non-conformities.</li><li>Leadership skills required to drive projects and deliverables forward. </li><li>Self-starter that is organized, autonomous, and a team player.</li></ul><h3>Above and Beyond Qualifications:</h3><ul><li>Hands-on manufacturing experience in both metallic and composite assemblies.</li><li>Knowledge of performance-based certification processes, and deliverables (FAR23 &amp; 27, ASTM).</li><li>Experience in passenger and medical configurations.</li><li>Modal and vibration frequency response analysis.</li></ul><br><div><span style="font-size:18px;"><b>Build electric airplanes with us!</b></span></div><div><br></div><div><span style="font-size:16px;">BETA offers a competitive Total Compensation package designed to support you now and as you grow with us.
