Wagner power plant facility in Baltimore, MD (Pasadena area). We are looking for qualified candidates with an emphasis on ‘instrumentation and controls’ skills.  The H.A. Wagner Plant consists of natural gas and oil-fired units.  The position reports to the Production Supervisor.The expected salary range for this position is $95,000.00 to $115,000.00 annually. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors as permitted by law. Talen Energy also provides competitive vacation and sick time to its employees.Primary Purpose &amp; Summary (Electrical):Performs tests on new and in-service equipment such as DCS, Instrumentation, PLCs, cables, power transformers, circuit breakers, and motors.  Performs troubleshooting, testing, repairing, and maintenance on a variety of electrical equipment and controls for power plant equipment, both AC &amp; DC, with voltages ranging from 115V up to 230KV. Troubleshoots, repairs and performs preventive maintenance on plant continuous emissions monitoring (CEM) analyzers, programmable logic controllers and data acquisition hardware. Utilizes a variety of testing equipment and instrumentation to calibrate, test and repair CEM system hardware. Keeps abreast of Federal and State requirements for this equipment. Develops preventive maintenance procedures and identifies spare parts required to maintain system availability. Prepares and maintains appropriate test results and reports as required. Supports system quarterly and yearly audits.Responsibilities (Electrical): 1. Inspects, maintains, and repairs electrical equipment utilizing a variety of test equipment and tools.2. Performs Critical Instrument Calibrations.3. Performs lock out/tag out of electrical equipment in accordance with company policies and procedures.4. Works with AC &amp; DC electrical equipment.Skills/Competencies (Instrumentation): 1.    Proficient at reading and understanding electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and one line drawings. 2.    Able to use test equipment such as voltage testers, insulation resistance testers, ammeters, process meters, HART communicators. 3.    General knowledge of electrical theory. 4.    Understands the operation and use of Programmable Logic Control (PLC). 5.    Has a working knowledge of relays, breakers, pressure/ temperature/ level switches, and solenoids. 6.    Performs modifications/additions of plant equipment by bending conduit, running cable, and terminating connections. 7.    Inputs data into a work management system (Maximo) and Cornerstone database. 8.    Ability to analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action. 9.    Establishes and maintains a cooperative and effective working relationship with others. 10.    Able to respond to unplanned call-ins, weekend work, work schedule changes.Education &amp; Experience Required (Instrumentation): 1.    Satisfactory completion of post-high school courses in AC &amp; DC electrical theory/equipment applications and over five years related work experience (e.g., evaluation and testing of generating plant and substation power equipment) or equivalent combination of formal education/training and experience. 2.    Experience in instrument calibrations. 3.    Working knowledge of mathematics up to and including trigonometry and ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings. 4.    Knowledge and application of safety procedures and practices involving work on and around high voltage equipment. 5.    Demonstrated reliability and responsibility and the ability to make quick and effective technical decisions.Education &amp;
