Job Description:eBOS Assistant Sourcing Manager - FremontJob DescriptionNextpoweris seeking an Assistant Sourcing Manager to develop and execute a comprehensive sourcing strategy for EBOS (Electrical Balance of System). Major responsibilities include managing product costs, product sourcing/outsourcing, product development, supplier performance, and go-to-market readiness. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of strategic sourcing methodology, procurement processes, supplier management, and manufacturing operations, particularly within the renewable energy sector.  The successful candidate thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment and enjoys the challenges of building and scaling a business.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Assist Senior Sourcing Manager with executing sourcing strategy for eBOS product roadmap for US and global regions</li><li>Identify, evaluate, and establish new suppliers to ensure a competitive, reliable and high-quality supply chain.</li><li>Manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and oversee performance to meet quality standards and delivery timelines.</li><li>Conduct RFP and negotiate lowest Total Cost of Ownership for material and outsourced products</li><li>Continuously assess supplier performance in cost, quality, engineering support, and reliability, implementing corrective actions when necessary.</li><li>Track product line cost, establish cost target, and partner with Purchasing team to drive material cost reduction initiatives</li><li>Help negotiate and track MSA, VMI, SLA, amendment, etc.</li><li>Work closely with internal teams, including engineering, operations, and quality assurance, to align sourcing activities with production requirements.</li><li>Conduct cost analyses, identify opportunities for cost optimization, and implement strategies to enhance financial efficiency.</li><li>Ensure procurement processes comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies.</li><li>Identify and mitigate risks related to sourcing and procurement, including supply chain disruptions, quality issues, and financial instability of suppliers.</li><li>Monitor, analyze, and report on commodity and industry trends to refine sourcing strategies.</li><li>Manage RFQs, support contract manufacturing services (CMS) negotiations, and handle escalations.</li><li>Oversee quarterly pricing cycles, inventory revaluation, non-recurring expenses (NREs), reconciliation, and capacity expansion.</li><li>Maintain supplier performance metrics and organize quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with key suppliers.</li><li>Assist with the development and maintenance of strategic sourcing standard operating procedures</li><li>Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and accountability within the team.</li><li>Perform other assignments as directed</li></ul>What We Look For<ul><li>Intense collaboration</li><li>Passionate customer focus</li><li>Thoughtful, fast, and disciplined execution</li><li>Tenacious commitment to continuous improvement</li><li>Relentless drive to win</li></ul>Required Qualifications &amp; Experience<ul><li>4-6 years of strategic sourcing and supply chain experience in electrical or electronics manufacturing; Experience with utility-scale solar, eBOS (e.g., Wire harness, Combiner Box, Load-Break Disconnects, IPC, Trunk Bus, In-line Fuses) highly desirable</li><li>Bachelor’s degree, MBA preferred</li><li>Proven experience managing a global supplier base and distributed teams.</li><li>Deep knowledge of wire harness manufacturing processes, box integration, and mechanical assemblies.</li><li>Experience with NPI and managing complex projects a plus</li><li>Well versed with strategic sourcing methodology</li><li>Demonstrated track record of successful cost reduction</li><li>Must be comfortable with multi-tasking in a fast-paced, dynamic environment</li><li>Strong negotiation skills, analytical mindset, creativity, and effective communication abilities.</li><li>High level of autonomy and accountability for results.</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications &amp; Experience<ul><li>Experience in the solar or renewable energy industry.</li><li>Experience working with EPCs, EBOS.</li><li>Willingness to travel (up to 15%) across Asia, the U.S., and Europe.</li></ul>About NextpowerAt Nextpower, we are leading the energy transition by providing the most comprehensive portfolio of intelligent solar trackers and software solutions for solar power plants.
