Bring your energy to Aggreko as Controls Specialist, based in the UK (with travel to customer sites). The role may need to work offshore from time to time approx 2 -3 occasions a week at a time .You’ll support the design, build and delivery of engineered solutions across a wide range of UK projects, working closely with our Design and Project Delivery teams to turn concepts into operational installations.Power without pause. From world-class events that last a few weeks to mining operations and remote communities who rely on us for decades.What you’ll do as Project Engineer:<ul><li>Lead the initial design, costing, integration, and delivery of complex, bespoke control systems across assigned projects.</li><li>Act as the technical lead for controls and interface with the Design Engineering team, providing specialist guidance from early design through commissioning.</li><li>Collaborate with Project Delivery Engineers and Central Engineering team to resolve complex controls challenges and ensure aligned programming standards.</li><li>Support pre‑sales activities by scoping technical requirements, estimating bespoke control solutions, and engaging with customers.</li><li>Ensure control system compliance with industry standards, cybersecurity requirements, and project‑specific regulations.</li><li>Facilitate knowledge transfer by upskilling project teams and contributing to continuous improvement in controls capability.</li></ul>You are:<ul><li>Strong technical expertise in control system design, integration, and troubleshooting across complex power generation systems.</li><li>Proven experience delivering projects involving advanced automation, SCADA, PLC programming, or bespoke control solutions used in Power Generation systems and equipment.</li><li>Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering design, project delivery, commercial teams, and customers to translate requirements into robust technical solutions.</li><li>Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to manage technical risk, resolve complex issues, and ensure system compliance and cybersecurity.</li><li>Excellent communication skills, with confidence engaging directly with customers and providing technical leadership.</li><li>A proactive, adaptable approach with a commitment to continuous learning and upskilling others in controls best practice.</li></ul>Here’s what you’ll get:<ul><li>The opportunity to work on diverse, high-impact UK projects with a supportive and collaborative team.</li><li>Access to specialist training and development tailored to engineering and project delivery roles.</li><li>Competitive compensation, benefits and annual leave package, plus opportunities for progression within Project Delivery or Engineering.</li><li>The chance to build expertise across design, controls, commissioning, and site engineering — with genuine career growth.</li></ul><div></div>Our people are can-do, positive, resilient and persistent.
