Job Title Scrap Room TechnicianDepartment OperationsReports to Production SupervisorEmployment Status  Regular, Full-Time FLSA Classification Non-ExemptShift 2-2-3     7:00am-7:00pm  A CREW ENDSLocation USA – Olyphant, PA (greater Scranton, PA Area) Travel 0%   Position Summary The Scrap Room Technician is responsible for the unloading, receiving, and processing (SAP Goods Receipt) of all inbound aluminum coils.  They are responsible to deliver the coils to the line for consumption as well as removal of all dunnage and packaging materials following processing.  This person is also responsible for handling all of the processing of scrap materials in the scrap room.  This includes, but is not limited to, weighing, processing (SAP BOL creation), and loading scrap onto trucks for outbound shipment.  Essential Functions/Key Deliverables   ·         Inspect the technical condition of the Forklift and other material handling equipment before starting work to determine the need for repairs to safely operate machinery. ·         Record pre-use checks in the provided system or the vehicle logbook as required. ·         Operation of large industrial lift truck (approx. 80,000lbs capacity).·         Report any faults and/or breakdowns of the equipment to Production Supervisor. ·         Unload, receive, and prepare all inbound coils for processing.·         Deliver coils to the point of use i.e. coil handling equipment located in production area.·         Dispose of all packaging materials and dunnage in a timely and efficient manner.·         Remove all recyclable materials from production floor each shift and process through proper waste stream.·         Weigh, process, and load scrap bales onto trucks in preparation for shipment.·         Preventative Maintenance of equipment i.e. check oil level in balers, housekeeping, greasing, filter changes.·         Communicate any needed repairs or work requests via the plant work order system.·         Use SAP to receive inbound materials and create BOLs for outbound shipments.·         Prioritize work in order to support production and ensure uninterrupted plant operation through on-time delivery of raw materials and efficient removal of process scrap.·         Transport materials to the production department complying with FIFO procedures.·         Clean Fork-Lift-Trucks and other handling equipment in accordance with ISO and BRC standards.·         Assist with the implementation and maintenance of CP systems, including performing internal audits as required. ·         Safely exchange fork truck gas cylinders, refill fuel tank, or replace, re-charge batteries (whichever applies).<ul><li>Perform any other duty reasonable corresponding with the role. </li></ul> Knowledge/Skills/Experience ·         Engineering or Technical Degree preferred.<ul><li style="color:#2d2d2d !important;">Previous forklift experience highly preferred.</li></ul>·         Ability to operate a forklift is required.·         Ability to read and write English.·         Ability to perform basic math functions.·         A basic working knowledge of computer systems, Microsoft Office, SAP.·         Ability to function both independently and as part of a team; must be flexible and excited to grow with the organization. Physical Demands (This needs to be reviewed/revised)N (Not Applicable) Activity is not applicable to this position.  O (Occasionally) Position requires this activity up to 33% of the time (0 - 2.5+ hrs/day)  F (Frequently) Position requires this activity from 33% - 66% of the time (2.5 - 5.5+ hrs/day)  C (Constantly) Position requires this activity more than 66% of the time (5.5+ hrs/day) Lift/Carry  10 lbs or less  F 11-25 lbs   F   25-50+ lb- O Push/Pull 10 lbs or less  F  11-25 lbs   F   25-50+ lb- O Stand  C   Walk  C  Sit  O   Manually Manipulate  O   Reach Outward  O   Reach Above Shoulder  O  Climb  O  Crawl  N  Squat or Kneel  F  Bend  F Other Physical Requirements  Vision (Near, Distance, Color, Peripheral, Depth)  Sense of Sound - Ability to understand conversational speaking  Sense of Touch  Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - per safety guidelines  Mobility to cover expansive manufacturing environment  Work Environment  Ability to work in an environment that can become very hot (temperature) depending on the weather.  Reasonable Accommodations Statement To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
