Position SummaryGFL Industrial Services is seeking experienced and adaptable High Pressure Cleaning Operators to join our Edmonton team. This role is suited for individuals with hands-on high-pressure water blasting experience in industrial environments who are mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and capable of working in dynamic field conditions. Successful candidates will have direct experience operating high-pressure systems ranging from 10,000 to 40,000 PSI, including Jetstream, NLB, and Hammelmann pumps, and be capable of rigging in, operating, and supporting a variety of specialized cleaning tools.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Safely operate and assist in the setup and rig-in of high-pressure water blasting equipment (10K–40K PSI).</li><li>Operate Jetstream, NLB, and Hammelmann pump units in industrial environments.</li><li>Set up and assist with automated and manual cleaning tools, including StoneAge and other HP tooling systems.</li><li>Perform mechanical troubleshooting and basic field repairs on pumps, guns, hoses, foot valves, and associated tooling.</li><li>Assist with site preparation, equipment setup, demobilization, cleaning, and debris removal.</li><li>Work at heights and in confined spaces across various industrial facilities (refineries, upgraders, chemical plants, pulp mills, SAGD, gas plants).</li><li>Perform confined space entry and detailed industrial cleaning tasks.</li><li>Support vacuum operations including swamping duties, rigging vac hoses, and assisting with standpipes and unloading.</li><li>Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs), and site safety requirements.</li><li>Complete and submit digital work reports as required.</li><li>Lead small crews during shutdown work when qualified; foreman opportunities available for experienced operators.</li><li>Other duties as required. </li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>Class 5 Drivers License with a fairly clean Commercial Drivers Abstract is required; Class 3 or 1 drivers license would be an asset. </li><li>Proven experience operating high-pressure equipment between 10,000 and 40,000 PSI.</li><li>Direct experience running Jetstream, NLB, and Hammelmann pumps.</li><li>Ability to rig in and operate high-pressure cleaning tools safely and efficiently.</li><li>Mechanical aptitude with the ability to repair and maintain high-pressure equipment and tooling.</li><li>Willingness to work after-hours, weekends, and on short notice callouts.</li><li>Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in varying weather conditions.</li><li>Availability for shutdowns up to 2 months in duration (6 days on / 1 day off schedule).</li><li>Industrial experience in refineries, pulp mills, gas plants, SAGD, or chemical facilities is preferred.</li><li>Previous foreman or shutdown leadership experience is considered an asset.</li><li>WJTA certification or equivalent high-pressure training would be considered an asset.</li></ul>Knowledge, Skills &amp; Abilities<ul><li>Strong safety mindset and situational awareness.</li><li>Ability to adapt to fast-paced and changing industrial environments.</li><li>Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and standing for extended periods.</li><li>Strong teamwork and communication skills.</li><li>Ability to problem-solve in the field under pressure.</li><li>Professional attitude and pride in workmanship.</li></ul>GFL Benefits<ul><li>Competitive wages.</li><li>RRSP company matching program.</li><li>Industry leading health, dental, vision and mental health benefits.</li><li>Employee assistance programs.</li><li>Paid training and development opportunities.</li><li>A supportive work environment that fosters professional growth and development.</li></ul>This is a safety sensitive position.
