Xylem also provides paid training for CDL upgrades (if applicable).<h2>Core Responsibilities</h2>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:<ul><li>Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and servicing on Godwin fleet equipment between each rental</li><li>Troubleshoot diesel engines, electrical systems, and pump-related issues</li><li>Rebuild diesel engines and pump components</li><li>Assist customers and/or Xylem personnel with setting up pumping systems at job sites, including startup and troubleshooting</li><li>Conduct initial inspections of equipment for damage; diagnose and report findings to the Service Manager</li><li>Test repaired equipment to ensure proper operation and quality standards</li><li>Perform preventative maintenance on company vehicles and shop support equipment</li><li>Perform diagnostic checks using computer-based tools and technology</li><li>Participate in a weekly on-call rotation to support customers after hours</li><li>Perform other related duties as assigned</li><li>Participate in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities</li></ul><h2></h2>Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:<ul><li>3–5 years of diesel technician/mechanic experience and/or relevant training (or equivalent combination of education and experience)</li><li>Strong mechanical aptitude with diesel engine experience</li><li>Valid driver’s license with a good driving record</li><li>Ability to obtain a DOT Medical Card</li><li>CDL Class B – Preferred</li><li>Ability to obtain required customer clearances (TWIC, DISA, etc.), if applicable</li></ul>Technical Skills:<ul><li>Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues (advanced diagnostics preferred)</li><li>Knowledge of equipment repair methods, tools, and techniques</li><li>Basic understanding of pump station electrical controls and monitoring systems</li><li>Experience with DC electrical systems and circuit testing</li><li>Familiarity with diesel engine components and systems</li><li>Understanding of safety practices and procedures</li></ul>Additional Competencies:<ul><li>Ability to work independently with minimal supervision</li><li>Self-motivated and detail-oriented</li><li>Strong communication skills with customers, coworkers, and leadership</li></ul><h2></h2><h2>Salary</h2>The estimated salary range for this position is $26/hr. - $34/hr.
