Perform hands-on floor engineering, including the design and layout of specialized components required for production.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES<ul><li>Monitor all designs for potential cost reductions and make recommendations to design engineering as required to structure parts to Bill of Materials.</li><li>Take shop measurements and order parts on a timely basis.</li><li>Become familiar with assembly processes, fabrication techniques and equipment in order to advise design engineering when a design conflicts with accepted processes.</li><li>Investigate quality problems and work with appropriate department in solving these problems.</li><li>Assign order numbers to layouts and hand deliver layouts to the IPP-fabrication department.</li><li>Monitor repetitive order and develop these parts into stock items.</li><li>Responsible for checking the accuracy of his/her work.</li><li>Be completely familiar with drafting standards, symbols, nomenclature, engineering terms, and proper use of materials, reference books.</li><li>Responsible for coordinating the design and layout of all special options.
