This role is responsible for ensuring that all necessary permits and interconnection agreements are secured efficiently to facilitate a smooth installation process. The Deployment Operations Assistant will be the primary liaison for permitting with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) and utilities, expertly navigating complex requirements and timelines. This role is crucial for maintaining a healthy project pipeline and enabling Base Power’s rapid growth. THIS IS AN HOURLY POSITION. SEE LEFT SIDE FOR DETAILS.What You'll Do<ul style=""><li>Prepare and submit all necessary permit applications and interconnection agreements to the relevant AHJs and utility companies</li><li>Proactively manage and resolve challenging interactions with AHJs, including addressing and overcoming rejected permits and navigating unique local requirements</li><li>Expertly handle off-nominal permit processes, developing creative and effective strategies to keep projects on track when standard procedures are insufficient</li><li>Maintain a clean and meticulously organized project pipeline, ensuring the timely submission and tracking of all required documentation from initial application to final approval</li><li>Report out key metrics on pipeline health, providing clear visibility into permit statuses, timelines, and potential bottlenecks to inform strategic decisions</li><li>Serve as the internal subject matter expert on permit and interconnection processes, providing guidance to the broader team</li><li>Develop and maintain strong relationships with key personnel at various municipalities and utilities</li><li>Continuously identify and implement process improvements to increase the speed and efficiency of the permitting and interconnection lifecycle</li></ul>What You'll Bring<ul style=""><li>2+ years of experience in permit coordination, project coordination, or a similar role, preferably within the solar, battery, construction, or utility sectors</li><li>Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on clear and professional customer interactions</li><li>Experience scheduling and coordinating with external stakeholders (e.g., inspectors, utility representatives)</li><li>Proficiency in managing documentation and utilizing online portals</li><li>Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to proactively address potential roadblocks</li><li>Ability to track and analyze data to identify trends and improve processes</li></ul>About the TeamThe Deployment Operations team is responsible for driving every project from contract to installation readiness, ensuring Base Power can scale quickly without sacrificing quality or speed. This team owns the full pre-installation pipeline, including permitting, interconnection, and coordination with local jurisdictions and utilities across multiple markets. They operate at the intersection of operations, regulatory, and field execution—turning complex, often inconsistent requirements into a standardized, repeatable process that keeps installs moving. Success on this team is measured by pipeline health, cycle times, and the ability to unblock projects before they impact installation schedules.
