Senior Power System EngineerThe Senior Power System Engineer is responsible for leading the design, analysis, and optimization of complex transmission and distribution networks, as well as renewable energy plants. This role ensures the safety, reliability, and efficiency of the power grid through advanced engineering studies, innovative technical solutions, and compliance with international standards. Expertise in PSCAD and DIgSILENT PowerFactory is essential for performing in-depth grid simulations, renewable integration studies, and network modelling. Key Responsibilities:System Design and Engineering:<ul><li>Design HV/MV power system infrastructure, including substations, transformers studies and reports (harmonics, power quality studies, thermal ratings and loss evaluation) and renewable energy grid connections.</li><li>Perform studies: load flow, short-circuit, arc-flash, and stability analysis.</li><li>Ensure designs meet technical, client, and regulatory standards.</li></ul>Insulation Coordination Studies:<ul><li>Develop a detailed model of the substation using PSCAD software.</li><li>Perform studies: transformer energization, transient overvoltage, switching overvoltage, fast font overvoltage.</li><li>Ensure designs meet technical, client, and regulatory standards.</li><li>Provide recommendations so that the substation design meets the requirements for Insulation Coordination.</li></ul> Grid Compliance Studies for renewables:<ul><li>Develop a detailed model of the plant using PSCAD/Powerfactory software.</li><li>Perform steady state studies: load flow, short circuit, reactive power capability, network losses, power quality etc.</li><li>Perform steady dynamic (RMS) and transient (EMT) studies to check the power plant’s response: voltage and frequency stability, fault ride through, change in voltage angle, sub synchronous oscillations etc.</li><li>Review plant’s designs meet technical and regulatory standards.</li></ul> Project Management:<ul><li>Plan and coordinate T&amp;D project activities and schedules.</li><li>Collaborate with teams, contractors, and Aecom clients.</li><li>Prepare reports, estimates, and resource plans for the team.</li></ul>Compliance and Standards:<ul><li>Ensure alignment with IEC, IEEE, NERC, and regional codes.</li><li>Follow industry best practices and promote safety and quality.</li></ul>Documentation and Reporting:<ul><li>Prepare technical documents, drawings, calculation sheets and study reports.</li><li>Present findings and recommendations to client meetings and Aecom Lead offices.</li></ul>
