We invite passionate individuals to join our team, dedicated to exceeding customer expectations through innovative and sustainable solutions.THE ROLE: The Driver Technician will be responsible for supporting the delivery, installation, and operation of Xylem pump equipment on Xylem Service Center sites and/or customer job sites. In this role, the incumbent will also maintain a clean and orderly work site environment to enable safe and efficient movement of workers and motorized equipment throughout the site.   CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:  To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.    <ul><li>Identify or verify equipment delivery or collection with customers and perform inspections and assessing if damages are present </li><li>Maintain a detailed log of hours of service utilize Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) in accordance with state and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) guidelines </li><li>Utilize motorized equipment handling machinery to safely load and secure equipment on and off trucks and trailers </li><li>Secure loaded items on the truck for safe over-the-road travel in accordance with Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration (FMCSA), Federal Department of Transportation and local Department of Transportation guidelines </li><li>Travel locally to mobilize/demobilize small pump systems; Ensure pumping system and pipeline meet operational requirements.  </li><li>Ability to work flexible hours &amp; extended hours as needed (weekends, overtime and on-call rotations) </li><li>Identify all items to be delivered or picked up with customer to ensure completeness and accuracy. Perform visual inspection of equipment being picked up and note any damage. Obtain customer’s signature on appropriate paperwork.</li><li>Some duties are location/site specific and additional duties may be required based on the business needs </li><li>Willingness to learn and perform pipe fusion duties.</li><li>Ability to function in a team environment, while also being able to work with minimal supervision.</li><li>Ability to obtain all required customer clearances (TWIC, DISA, etc.); Ability to obtain DOT Medical card, clean driving record.</li></ul>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:  <ul><li>High school diploma  or equivalent</li><li>One to two years’ experience in the construction industry preferred; Military and Construction experience a plus </li><li>Valid driver’s license with good driving record; (Class A license required) </li><li>Ability to drive a stick shift preferred</li><li>Hazmat and tanking certification a plus</li><li>Ability to obtain Department of Transportation Medical card (may obtain after hire), meet FMCSA age requirements and obtain Hazmat endorsement, if needed </li><li>Experience operating heavy industrial equipment such as flatbed trailers, telehandlers, skid steers, air tuggers, etc. </li><li>Basic computer skills and ability to read design documents or other layouts as necessary </li></ul>DAY IN THE LIFE:  In this role, the working environment is a shop/manufacturing environment subject to all weather conditions, shop noise, and fumes within OSHA standards and machinery with moving parts. The physical demands may include but not limited to bending, squatting, stooping, twisting, kneeling, climbing, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds. This role requires extended hours as needed (weekends, overtime, and on-call rotations) and travel to fulfill duties listed above. Some travel may be required.SALARY:  Target pay is $28- $30 per hour.
