This is a key commercial role focused on identifying, developing, and closing both capital and operational opportunities within wastewater treatment works.You will represent a broad portfolio of industry-leading wastewater treatment solutions, working closely with municipalities, consultants, contractors, OEMs and internal technical teams to deliver sustainable, high-value outcomes for customers.If you are commercially driven, technically credible, and enjoy building long-term customer relationships in the municipal sector, this role offers the opportunity to make a real impact.Key responsibilities<ul><li>Develop and execute a robust sales strategy to generate new business across the municipal wastewater treatment market in the Midlands</li><li>Identify, qualify and progress opportunities from lead generation through to contract award</li><li>Build strong, professional relationships with key customer stakeholders including Operations, Engineering, Procurement and Finance</li><li>Represent the full wastewater treatment portfolio, aligning customer needs with the most effective technical and commercial solutions</li><li>Lead complex negotiations using a win-win approach in line with business governance</li><li>Own sales forecasting and pipeline management, reporting against monthly, quarterly and annual targets</li><li>Coordinate closely with internal teams including Applications Engineering, Proposals, Service and Aftermarket to deliver best-in-class solutions</li><li>Determine and recommend the most appropriate route to market (direct, contractor, OEM or distributor) for each opportunity</li><li>Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction throughout the full sales and delivery lifecycle</li></ul>About youYou will be a motivated sales professional with proven experience in the municipal wastewater sector, comfortable operating at both technical and commercial levels.Essential experience &amp; skills:<ul><li>Several years’ experience in a sales or business development role, ideally within wastewater treatment or a related engineering environment</li><li>Strong knowledge of wastewater technologies, materials and municipal procurement processes</li><li>Track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets</li><li>Excellent relationship management, communication and negotiation skills</li><li>Customer-focused mindset with strong problem-solving ability</li><li>Full UK driving licence</li><li>Competent user of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)</li></ul>Desirable:<ul><li>Engineering qualification (HNC/HND or degree preferred)</li><li>Experience using CRM systems (e.g. Dynamics 365, Salesforce)</li><li>Knowledge of specifications and contract documentation</li><li>Hands-on experience with wastewater treatment equipment</li></ul>What’s on offer<ul><li>Competitive base salary with performance-related bonus</li><li>Company car</li><li>Opportunity to work on high-impact municipal infrastructure projects</li><li>Collaborative, technically strong and supportive environment</li><li>Long-term development within a global water technology leader</li></ul>Location &amp; travel<ul><li>Home-based within the Midlands region</li><li>UK travel as required; occasional European travel may be required</li></ul></div>Join the global Xylem team to be a part of innovative technology solutions transforming water usage, conservation, and re-use.
