Our customers span a wide array of industries including aerospace, defense, mobility, healthcare, pharma, biotech, clean tech, chemicals, energy, lifestyle, food production, and industrial equipment.</p><h2>Who we are looking for</h2><p>Re:Build Manufacturing is seeking a highly skilled Senior R&amp;D Machine Fabricator to build and design specialized custom machinery and equipment for our manufacturing operations. This fabrication-first role involves hands-on building, welding, and assembling custom equipment while creating practical designs. You will independently manage multiple R&amp;D projects from concept through fabrication and installation, supporting Re:Build's diverse manufacturing capabilities across multiple sites. The ideal candidate is a master fabricator who can translate ideas into functional, reliable equipment.</p><h2>What you will get to do!</h2><ul><li>Build and fabricate specialized custom machinery and equipment from concept to completion</li><li>Perform hands-on welding, sheet metal fabrication, and assembly work</li><li>Create practical designs, drawings, and specifications</li><li>Modify and upgrade existing production equipment to improve performance and reliability</li><li>Manage multiple concurrent R&amp;D fabrication projects</li><li>Integrate hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems into custom-built machinery</li><li>Wire and integrate electrical components, controls, and panels</li><li>Test and validate equipment performance, making hands-on adjustments as needed</li><li>Collaborate with production teams and technical staff across Re:Build sites</li><li>Coordinate with external vendors and suppliers for materials and components</li><li>Troubleshoot and resolve fabrication challenges throughout the build process</li><li>Document builds, processes, and best practices</li></ul><h2>What you bring to the team</h2><ul><li><strong>10+ years of hands-on fabrication and machinery building experience</strong></li></ul><h2>Expert Fabrication Skills:</h2><ul><li>Welding (MIG, TIG, and/or stick)</li><li>Sheet metal fabrication and forming</li><li>Equipment assembly and integration</li><li>Hydraulic systems installation, integration, and troubleshooting</li><li>Pneumatic systems installation, integration, and troubleshooting</li><li>Electrical systems knowledge and practical wiring/integration capabilities</li><li>Proven ability to build custom machinery from scratch or specifications</li><li>Ability to create practical designs and working drawings</li><li>Experience managing multiple fabrication projects independently</li><li>Strong hands-on problem-solving skills</li><li>Excellent communication and collaboration abilities</li><li>Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics</li><li>Self-motivated with strong attention to detail, craftsmanship, and safety</li></ul><h2><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></h2><ul><li>CAD software experience (SolidWorks preferred)</li><li>Machining experience (lathe, mill, CNC)</li><li>Experience building equipment for diverse manufacturing environments</li><li>Background in automation equipment or process improvement machinery</li><li>Experience in a lean manufacturing environment</li></ul><h2><strong>Work Environment</strong></h2><ul><li>Primarily based at Re:Build's Denver facility</li><li>Majority of time in the fabrication shop building equipment</li><li>Office/design work as needed to support projects</li><li>Occasional travel to other Re:Build sites or suppliers</li><li>Standard day shift, Monday through Friday</li></ul><h2>Additional Details</h2><ul><li><strong>Compensation:</strong> The anticipated hourly rate range for this role is <strong>[$39 to $58/hour ]</strong>. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
