Summary of PositionA Maintenance Technician III is responsible for performing facility and process equipment preventative maintenance, attending to equipment downtime as required, and completing various projects related to maintenance and engineering requests. This position requires 6 or more years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment or 4 years of maintenance experience with a recognized trade certification. Essential Duties and Responsibilities<ul><li>Maintain compliance with all Company policies. </li><li>Maintain personal compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and recommend measures to improve health and safety within the facility. </li><li>Demonstrate safe work practices and follow company safety policies, procedures, and regulations including but not limited to Lock Out/Tag Out practices. </li><li>Be an effective team player and work well with all other departments. </li><li>Perform unplanned and planned (preventative and predictive) maintenance on production and facility equipment as required, utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to record work completed. </li><li>Make recommendations for preventative/predictive maintenance tasks to improve efficiency, equipment availability, and performance.   </li><li>Complete small electrical and/or mechanical projects as directed by Team Lead or Supervisor. </li><li>Repair and replace electrical, hydraulic, pneumatics, and electronic components such as motors, contractors, relays, timers, types of switches, PLCs, light curtains, motor controls, and valves as directed by Team Lead or Supervisor. </li><li>Diagnose faults on electrical equipment or systems, which may involve complex interlocking, interrelated circuits, integrated systems, and complex sequencing. </li><li>Diagnose complex electrical systems, mechanical components, pneumatic components, and controls to identify hazards, defects and need for adjustments, repairs, or programming. </li><li>Examine, install, replace, and repair electronic wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, cable assemblies, lighting fixtures, and other electrical components.  </li><li>Support and perform installation, set up, modification, and relocation of equipment to accommodate or improve production requirements. </li><li>Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance. </li><li>Run new power supply lines to new/relocated equipment according to IEE wiring regulations, Electrical Safety Code, and Company policy. </li><li>Wire new control panels according to supplied drawings and verbal instructions while adhering to Hydro Codes and other applicable standards and regulations. </li><li>Make trade calculations for load requirements and select appropriate sizes/grades of components in accordance with current electrical code. </li><li>Support the maintenance of spare parts inventory levels. </li><li>Maintain an organized workplace that complies with housekeeping requirements. </li><li>Ability to work rotating shifts, overnights, weekends, holidays, and overtime, as needed. </li><li>Must be able to lift loads upwards of 50lbs.  </li></ul>
