Seurat has raised over $180M and is backed by leading venture partners like Capricorn, NVentures (NVIDIA), True Ventures, General Motors Ventures, Denso, Porsche SE, SIP global partners, Honda, Xerox Ventures/Myriad Venture Partners, Cubit Capital, Siemens Energy, and Maniv Mobility.</p></div><p><strong>Position Overview</strong></p><p>We are currently seeking a motivated, team-oriented, and resourceful Electro-Optics Intern to assist with the research, development, and manufacturing of Seurat’s revolutionary Optically Addressable Light Valve (OALV). This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of multiple technical fields including wide bandgap semiconductors, liquid crystals, laser-material interactions, thermal modeling, engineering and manufacturing and process development.</p><p>This role is ideal for a candidate who thrives in a fast-paced lab environment and possesses a deep understanding of semiconductor/liquid crystal device physics and characterization.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><p>You will serve as a bridge between high-level R&amp;D science and day-to-day engineering execution:</p><ul><li>R&amp;D &amp; Characterization: Support technology development by performing measurements and analysis on semiconductor devices in a cleanroom or high-power laser environment; investigate device physics, inspection and defect characterization, and electrical characterization via impedance spectroscopy</li><li>Modeling &amp; Testing: Contribute to optical and thermal model development; develop image analysis tools, dynamic patterning analysis, and material validation.</li><li>Engineering Operations: Update and maintain SolidWorks models and build configurations; assist in the setup of automated reporting</li><li>Documentation &amp; Quality: Build out Technical Data Packages (TDP) and Manufacturing Data Packages (MDP); perform failure reviews of damaged devices and author detailed reports to drive root-cause solutions.</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><p>Education:  Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Optics, Materials Science, or related field.</p><p> Core Skills: Strong background in wide bandgap <strong>semiconductors,</strong> <strong>electro-optics, or liquid crystals</strong>.</p><ul><li>Hands-on experience working with lasers and optics, electro-optic component testing, evaluation, and data analysis</li><li>Hands-on experience with electrical characterization (Impedance Analyzers, IV Curve Tracers).</li><li>Experience with optical microscopy and thin-film characterization.</li></ul><p>Preferred Experience:</p><ul><li>Proficiency in signal generation and measurement (time and frequency domain)</li><li>Electrical circuit modeling</li><li>Familiarity with optical materials and coatings as well as their manufacturing techniques</li><li>Machine shop interaction, technical assembly, electronic device packaging</li><li>Excel, LabVIEW, MATLAB, ACAD, Mentor Graphics</li><li>Semiconductor research and development in power electronics</li><li>Cleanroom operation &amp; contamination control</li><li>Highly organized with attention to detail</li><li>Effective communication, both verbal and written.Must be able to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams</li></ul><p> </p><div><div><div><p>Massachusetts Salary Range</p></div><div>Salary Range</div><div><span>$27</span><span>—</span><span>$27 USD</span></div></div></div><div><p>Seurat Technologies is an Equal Opportunity Employer that values employees with a broad cross-cultural perspective.
