As a member of the Mechanical Design Team you will be a driving force of innovation and helping build the future of electric vehicle charging.</p><h3>What You Will Bring to ChargePoint</h3><ul><li>As a Mechanical Design Intern, your responsibilities will include the full range of the product design process:<ul><li>Design of prototype parts, test fixtures</li><li>Design of experiments and engineering validation testing</li><li>Documenting test results in reports and presenting findings to the broader organization</li><li>Prototype assembly</li><li>Creation of engineering documentation in the form of drawings and bills of material</li><li>Root cause and failure analysis</li></ul></li></ul><h3>Requirements</h3><ul><li>Actively enrolled in a degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or related field (Aero, Mechatronics and Thermal concentrations considered)</li><li>3rd year student or beyond with at least 2 prior internships</li><li>Prior Experience<ul><li>As an intern, lab assistant, teaching assistant, etc</li><li>Involvement at a deep level in a relevant student design project like SAE Formula-E, Solar Car or Solar Decathlon</li><li>At least 1 year experience with Siemens NX CAD in prior internship</li><li>Experience with shop tools</li></ul></li><li>Excellent, professional communication skills</li><li>Knowledge of heat transfer</li><li>Knowledge of basic electrical circuits</li><li>Ability to perform basic stress/strain analysis</li><li>Availability to commit to a full-time internship in a fast-paced professional environment</li><li style="font-style:italic;"><em>Local applicants preferred as relocation assistance is not offered</em></li></ul><p>ChargePoint is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.<span> </span></p><p>The targeted US salary range for roles at this operating level is $25 to $30.
