We generally base our salary decisions on factors including but not limited to, relevant work and leadership experience, education, demonstrated performance, internal equity, and in some cases, geographic location. Scope of Job: The Mergers &amp; Acquisitions and Project Finance Analyst focuses on financial modeling, data analysis, and due diligence support for mergers, acquisitions, and project financing transactions. Key responsibilities include building and scrutinizing proforma models, financial structuring, runs sensitivities, manages data rooms, provides transaction support, conducts market research, and prepares pitch books and presentations. This role requires mastery of Excel, proficiency in PowerPoint, strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, effective time management, and clear communication skills. This position is Hybrid in San Diego (Rancho Bernardo). Minimum of three days a week in-office.<h2>Responsibilities</h2><ul> <li>M&amp;A and Project Finance <ul> <li>Financial Analysis: Supports financial modeling, valuation, due diligence, and risk analysis for acquisition and divestiture transactions.</li> <li>Financing Support: Assists in structuring, negotiating, and executing debt and tax equity financing arrangements with lenders and investors, supports credit approvals and closing processes.</li> <li>Transaction Process Management: Supports cross-functional transaction teams (Development, Finance, Legal, Engineering, Procurement) to ensure efficient and timely execution of M&amp;A and project finance transactions. Assists in structuring term sheets and supporting MIPA/PSA negotiations, as well as financing agreements.</li> <li>Due Diligence Management: Assists the entire due diligence process for potential target deals, covering financial, developmental and operational, legal, technological, and other relevant areas.</li> </ul></li> <li>Strategic Support <ul> <li>Market Origination and Strategic Assessment: Identifies and researches project and platform acquisition opportunities across solar, wind, and storage. Supports pipeline development through proactive engagement with developers and industry contacts.</li> <li>Market Intelligence and Competitive Benchmarking: Monitors industry trends, regulatory developments, and Project Finance/M&amp;A activity to inform strategic positioning and provides insights to internal stakeholders.</li> </ul></li> <li>Internal Process Management <ul> <li>Internal Stakeholder Coordination and Approvals - Prepares and assists investment memos and executive presentations to obtain approvals from internal Investment Committees and Executive leadership.</li> <li>Supports handover of acquired projects or portfolios to internal teams, including knowledge transfer, commercial obligations, and documentation.</li> </ul></li> <li>Digital Tools, Process Improvement <ul> <li>Helps optimize M&amp;A and Project Finance tracking systems, templates, dashboards, and databases to increase team efficiency and decision-making transparency.</li> </ul></li> <li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul>Supervision of Others: None Working Conditions: 80-90% of the time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers, frequent use of MS Excel, Power Point, various data bases, telephones, and general office equipment. 10-20% of the time is spent in the field; meeting with appropriate financial representatives and others directly involved in projects that EDF power solution is operating and servicing. 5-10% of their time is spent at conferences, seminars, and other industry-related events.  <h2>Qualifications</h2>Education/Experience:<ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, accounting, mathematics, engineering or related field required; Master’s degree preferred; CPA, CFA desirable</li> <li>2 years of professional experience required</li> <li>Minimum of 1 years of experience preferred in renewable energy, energy infrastructure, or finance</li> <li>Experience in EIA, ABB, Ventyx, SNL, SEIA / AWEA databases</li> <li>Experience in Python or R is a plus</li> <li>Experience in presentation software such as Tableau and dashboard development</li> <li>Experience building and using project finance and financial structuring models strongly desired</li></ul> Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: <ul> <li>Requires strong quantitative and research background. </li> <li>Strong knowledge of valuation concepts and DCF analysis</li> <li>Tax benefit monetization, partnership taxation and debt experience or knowledge </li> <li>Advanced Excel user; knowledge of other database software a plus</li> <li>VBA and knowledge of other database software a plus</li> <li>Demonstrated capacity for analytical thinking and presentation development</li> <li>Ability to work well independently and build relationships with other departments and segments to accomplish objectives</li> <li>Proficiency in Spanish or French is a plus</li></ul> Physical Requirements: (describe any physical demands of the job such as lifting, climbing, standing, stooping, etc.)
