What you will do:The Material Planner reports to the Production Control Manager and is responsible for maintaining control over the ordering of materials for production, cycle counting, invoice resolution, have supervisory responsibility for hourly associates and serve as the backfill for Master Planner. They plan and direct the work of operators within the department, drive safe and quality-minded behaviors throughout the manufacturing process, and ensure that the department runs smoothly. This role operates independently within general procedural patterns with latitude for judgment on methods of implementation. Train and evaluate direct reports.</li><li>Ensure good communication between all departments involved in the Production Process, regarding safety, quality, customer demand changes, battery supply issues, and other related information that might affect business operations.</li><li>Collaboratively work to resolve problems and escalate issues for resolution as needed.</li><li>Contribute to positive employee relations through engagement and inclusion.</li><li>Attend, support, and/or lead meetings as applicable, including but not limited to shift handoff meetings, communication meetings, and HPT meetings.</li><li>Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental responsibilities and all Company policies and requirements.</li><li>Drive daily, weekly, and monthly performance metrics to achieve budgetary requirements.</li><li>Understand and support plant KPIs and Shop Floor Management objectives, ensuring similar understanding and support by direct reports.</li><li>Apply continuous improvement skills such as Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean manufacturing, etc. to drive improvement.
