Senior Nuclear Engineer represents a level at which career may stabilize for many years.This position will support the New Megawatts initiative within the Nuclear Generation Department, including the 24 Month Fuel Cycle conversation projects at McGuire Nuclear Station, Catawba Nuclear Station, and Harris Nuclear Plant.  This position will offer an opportunity to develop a diverse understanding of power plant specific systems, layouts, and design basis while working on multi-year projects supporting exciting new nuclear generation projects.  This may include plant walkdowns, vendor interfaces, development of program/project documents, assistance with funding packages, schedule development, and other needs consistent with large projects. The position should be located at McGuire Nuclear Station or the corporate office.  This position will report to a leader within the Strategic Capital Engineering Group.  This position supports a hybrid work posture with work split between in the office and remote.  The position is a normal office working environment that will involve onsite plant visits based on project needs.Responsibilities With Minimal Supervision:<ul><li>Develops and maintains positive working relationships with site and corporate teammates to effectively coordinate work activities. </li><li>Provides engineering/technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis, and resolution of problems of increasing scope and complexity in both inside as well as outside the scope of typical responsibility.</li><li>Ensures accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring of work activities; decisions may affect the operations or results of the work group and may have some impact on major projects or department results.</li><li>Prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, and documentation to defined problems and analysis of increasing scope and complexity.</li><li>Possesses and applies the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures; proficient in technical and analytical competencies necessary to handle assignments of increasing complexity.</li><li>Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities. Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills.  Maintains accurate records and files.</li><li>Supports the company's goals and represents the company positively and professionally.</li></ul>Basic / Required Qualifications – Nuclear Engineer III<ul><li>Graduation from a four-year college or university with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program or state registration as a Professional Engineer. A Master's degree in engineering will be considered in lieu of the B. S. engineering degree.</li><li>Minimum of 4 years of engineering experience or 5 years of engineering experience with state registration as a Professional Engineer.  Experience must have been attained at a "Fully Meets" performance level. </li></ul>Basic / Required Qualifications – Senior Nuclear Engineer<ul><li>Graduation from a four-year college or university with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program or state registration as a Professional Engineer. A Master's degree in engineering will be considered in lieu of the B.
