This position works closely with the organization to analyze and report variances, trends and plans. This position is responsible for the maintenance and accuracy of standard financial reports and requires timely response to end user inquiries/issues.Effective leadership, communication and collaboration skills are essential for this position as the incumbent is responsible for functions that cross and impact multiple functions and jurisdictions.<h2>Responsibilities </h2>Ensure timely and accurate analysis and reporting:<ul><li>Provide and present accurate and relevant financial analysis and management reporting to the FP&amp;A Organization and respective senior management to enable strategic decision-making</li><li>Analyze and consolidate management financial reporting including actuals, budgets and forecasting/projecting year-end impacts including variance explanations.</li><li>Analyze data, identify and correct errors to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial information.</li><li>Coordinate and support the month-end close activities. Analyze business unit O&amp;M and capital variances for key drivers.</li><li>Prepare, check and/or post journal entries and accruals on an as-needed basis.</li><li>Work with internal &amp; external auditors; provide necessary information &amp; answer questions as needed.</li><li>Establish proper business and financial processes to ensure adherence to internal controls.</li><li>Maintain good working knowledge of accounting policies and impacts as required. Ensure effective budget &amp; business planning process:</li><li>Support the budget and business planning process including communication of budget guidance, assumptions, and calendars for assigned sections.</li><li>Validate budgets uploaded to correct target amounts.</li><li>Develop and support department budget, strategic plan and related presentation material.</li><li>Work closely with and at the direction of appropriate management during the business planning process for input and dialogue on business plan and budget content.</li><li>Coordinate the preparation of annual budgets utilizing OneStream Hyperion Planning. Leading and building relationships:</li><li>Build relationships &amp; promote two-way communication with business partners and Finance peers.</li><li>Help provide guidance to team on complex accounting issues.</li><li>Proactively help identify cost reduction opportunities through independent analysis.</li><li>Actively seek to identify and meet customer needs with a sense of urgency, taking ownership of customer issues and problems until resolved.</li><li>Assist in defining and executing initiatives to drive a culture of accountability for financial management in their business partner’s organization. Other and miscellaneous duties:</li><li>Coordinate &amp; manage various projects &amp; initiatives that arise throughout the normal course of business.</li><li>Identify, develop and implement continuous process improvement opportunities.</li><li>Lead and/or assist with special projects and requests as required</li><li>Participate in peer teams when identified to ensure consistency in processes and reporting, and sharing of best practices throughout the organization</li><li>Overtime may be required during monthly/quarterly/annual closing and business planning processes as well as rollout of new and/or changes processes.</li><li>Perform other ad hoc requests as necessary.</li></ul><h2>Basic/Required Qualifications</h2><h2></h2><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree with major in Accounting/Finance or related discipline</li><li>Three (3) plus years of increasingly diverse or complex experience in related field in addition to degree</li><li>Possesses and applies fundamental accounting and finance concepts, practices, and procedures</li><li>Experience with financial applications (i.e., PeopleSoft, OneStream, PowerPlan, etc.) and query tools (WebI, PowerBI, cubes)</li><li>Experience using Microsoft products such as Excel, Word and Power Point</li></ul><h2>​Desired Qualifications </h2><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in (Accounting/Finance/Economics) OR a Bachelor’s degree in a similar discipline with prior (accounting/finance/economics) work experience</li><li>Six (6) plus years or more of increasingly diverse or complex experience in related field in addition to degree</li><li>Master's degree in Business Administration OR Master's degree in Accounting</li><li>In addition to desired degree, 6 years related work experience</li><li>CPA and/or Chartered Financial Analyst</li></ul><h2>Additional Preferred Qualifications</h2><ul><li>Experience in interfacing with executive leadership</li><li>Strong oral and written communication skills</li><li>Demonstrated ability to effectively serve as a subject matter expert, developing process improvements and recommending best practices based on expertise &amp; knowledge</li><li>Demonstrated ability to work independently with proactive recommendations and limited supervision</li><li>Ability to use Microsoft Business Intelligence Suite and PowerPivot</li><li>Broad knowledge of utility environment and its business units/operations.</li><li>Ability to analyze and understand financial information, recognize significant variances, trends, and irregularities and summarize clearly and concisely to management.</li><li>Ability to meet stated deadlines and respond quickly to changing needs through a teamwork approach</li><li>Masters in Accounting or MBA</li><li>Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA)</li></ul><h2></h2><h2></h2><h2>Working Conditions</h2><ul><li>Hybrid Mobility Classification – Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period.
