We invite passionate individuals to join our team, dedicated to exceeding customer expectations through innovative and sustainable solutions.The Business Development Manager, Treatment – UPW UV APAC is responsible for driving growth of Xylem’s UV technologies within the Ultrapure Water (UPW) market across APAC. This role will lead strategic pursuit planning, technical‑commercial solution development, and customer engagement to accelerate adoption of Xylem’s UV portfolio in UPW applications. The position serves as the primary commercial and technical catalyst for expanding UPW market penetration, shaping vertical strategies, and building capabilities across internal teams to support sustained growth.This will include presenting and demonstrating to prospective users on product/solution capability as well as the provision of valuable input to product development. The business development manager will sell products and/or services to customers then transition the business to an account manager or relationship manager or retain accounts for ongoing maintenance and service after relationship is secure. He/she will pursue sales leads and visit customer sites within an assigned territory defined by geographic area, industry, or product/service segment to present bold and innovative solutions to customer challenges. In addition to face-to-face meetings, customers will also have to be engaged remotely (e.g., phone, email, video conferencing etc.) to close sales. Success is seen in growth of funnel, business growth and increased conversion rates.Responsibilities:<ul><li>Work closely with field sales teams in different countries for business development and technical customer visits and sales activities.</li><li>Develop Country and vertical based strategies to deliver growth including leading initiatives with Key stakeholders such as Product management, sales, marketing Inside sales within APAC.</li><li>Continue to develop thought leadership pieces linked to the business and Industry focus in Growth markets.</li><li>Provide active technical support as needed to generate RFQs and tenders from customers.</li><li>Provide trainings to Xylem sales teams globally on Power applications and market to build capability locally.</li><li>Support Xylem teams to get our products on the Approved Vendor Lists (AVLs).</li><li>Review tender and specification documents and find the right technical and commercial solution for the customer.  </li><li>Select, price, and prepare the technical solution for the customer.</li><li>Develop proposals for package/skid as needed utilizing 3rd party products (accessories, products needed to complete a full skid like noise hood, valves, VFD, etc.) by contacting suppliers, getting pricing, coordinating the activities involved for the final customer solution.</li><li>Coordinate the preparation of technical documentation required thoroughly and attend technical discussions with the customer.</li><li>Lead technical and commercial contractual negotiations with the customer with the field sales team to win projects for Xylem.</li><li>Make pricing recommendations and take decisions as per DOA (Delegation of Authority) to win the project.</li><li>Actively use salesforce.com to input projects and coordinate them with local sales teams.</li><li>Maintain and develop relationships with industrial customers in a pro-active technical support focused approach with local Xylem sales teams (by building up their capabilities, understanding of the market, types of conversations to have with the customers, etc.).</li><li>Follow-up performance of projects during execution to ensure client satisfaction.</li><li>Provide input to product management and factories for continuous improvement on product gaps, factory quality improvements, etc.</li><li>Coordinate factory audits with EPCs, contractors, End Users as needed for Xylem products to be approved.</li></ul>Interfaces of cooperation:<ul><li>External: End users, OEM’s, Integrators, National governing bodies, Syndicates, Consultants.</li><li>Internal: Xylem commercial teams (sales personnel), country managing directors, procurement, R&amp;D, factory plant managers, legal, finance, product management, marketing, inside sales.</li></ul>Requirements and competences:<ul><li>Bachelors degree in Business Management, Marketing or equivalent.</li><li>10+ years of experience in the UV market or other Industrial markets.</li><li>Strong technical expertise and understanding of various types of UV and application specifically from an Industrial applications standpoint.</li><li>Good commercial and business acumen.</li><li>Driven and ability to find solutions to complex technical and commercial problems.</li><li>Sales growth and business development mindset.</li><li>Structured and ability to manage complex projects.</li><li>Strong technical skills and capabilities in UV/UPW.</li><li>Should be able to work across multiple countries.</li><li>Strong English knowledge and communication skills, additional APAC languages will be a plus.</li><li>Ability to win trust of both internal and external customers.</li><li>Ability to influence and drive change.</li></ul>Join the global Xylem team to be a part of innovative technology solutions transforming water usage, conservation, and re-use.
