The Senior Engineer identifies problems, develops solutions and takes action to resolve.<h2>Responsibilities</h2><ul><li>Provides engineering/technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis, and resolution of problems of increasing scope and complexity.</li><li>Contributes to team decision-making in the accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, and monitoring of work activities.</li><li>Deals with changing priorities and differing situations and makes decisions that may affect the work of the team.</li><li>Provides engineering and technical support for hydro generation assets and regulated renewable resources (e.g., solar, wind, storage), including operations support, maintenance support, performance analysis, and reliability improvements.</li><li>Supports FERC/NERC compliance activities, including evidence collection, internal audits/assessments, and corrective action tracking for applicable standards.</li><li>Prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and sketches related to well-defined problems and analysis of increasing scope and complexity.</li><li>Conducts engineering and related studies.</li><li>Completes routine engineering projects with minimal oversight, with increasing ability to independently manage project schedules and interfaces; increasingly competent to design, operate, and maintain systems with moderate impact on existing systems.</li><li>Possesses and applies fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures; proficient in technical and analytical competencies.</li><li>Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities.</li><li>Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.</li><li>Maintains accurate records and files.</li><li>Supports the company’s goals and represents the company positively and professionally.</li></ul><h2>Required Qualifications</h2><ul><li>Bachelor's of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program</li><li>In addition to required degree, four (4) years minimum of related work experience</li><li>A Master's degree in Engineering will be considered in lieu of the B.S. Engineering degree.</li></ul><h2>Preferred Qualifications</h2><ul><li>Demonstrated ability to lead technical work (including scope, schedule, and estimates) and drive deliverables to completion with minimal oversight.</li><li>Proficient in principles and practices of project management (planning, risk management, change control, and stakeholder communication).</li><li>Demonstrated ability to mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers, including reviewing work products and supporting skill development.</li><li>Experience in the utility industry (generation and/or regulated environment).</li><li>Experience supporting hydro generation and/or regulated renewable resources (e.g., solar, wind, storage).</li><li>Experience supporting FERC/NERC compliance activities (e.g., standards compliance, evidence, audit readiness, and corrective actions to closure).</li><li>Demonstrated ability to apply engineering theories and principles to ambiguous or complex problems, including troubleshooting and root cause analysis.</li><li>Experience developing and presenting technical recommendations to varied audiences (operations, maintenance, leadership, and external stakeholders as needed).</li><li>Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and managing interfaces with vendors/contractors.</li><li>Strong written and oral communication skills.</li></ul><h2>Working Conditions</h2><ul><li>Hybrid – Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable commute to Cowans Ford or Bad Creek Hydro Station.
