AECOM’s Water Business Line is seeking a talented Project Engineer to support our Water, Wastewater, and Water Resources practice based in the New England Area (Chelmsford, MA; Boston, MA; or Rocky Hill, CT).The selected employee will have a primary focus on water/wastewater/water resources utility planning, design, condition assessment, and mapping for state, municipal, and private clients. The candidate will perform a variety of tasks, including site investigations, field measurements, utility investigations, capacity studies, condition assessments, conceptual through 100 percent design, cost estimating, and construction administration/observation. The successful candidate will have ample opportunities to develop professionally through frequent collaboration with senior engineers, project managers, clients, regulatory agencies, and industry-leading subject matter experts, and attendance at professional conferences.The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:<ul><li>Provide technical support for a variety of utility design related projects, including treatment plants, pump/booster stations, water line and collection line design, rehabilitation, master planning, and construction administration.</li><li>Create designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings.</li><li>Work under supervision of a senior project manager in the water/wastewater/water resources practice or senior level team members.</li><li>Utilize basic engineering principles, judgement, theories, practices, and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems.</li><li>Work on routine or detailed engineering assignments involving calculations and engineering analyses.</li><li>Perform work with little supervision.</li><li>Propose approaches to solve new problems.</li><li>Identify discrepancies in outcomes, results, and analysis of engineering tasks.</li><li>Participate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.</li><li>Provide guidance to entry-level engineers.</li><li>Record field data using tablets and GPS units.</li><li>Record and interpret data, conduct analyses, prepare reports, and compare findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance.</li><li>Perform data gathering site visits, field measurements, mapping, and observations during construction.</li><li>Perform quality control review of design calculations or drawings.</li><li>Software use includes, but is not limited to: AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, Bentley and/or hydraulic modeling packages.</li></ul>
