You will play a key role in shaping technical architecture, ensuring system reliability, and driving best practices in software engineering. This position requires strong problem-solving skills, deep technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.Role Responsibilities<ul><li>Working as a hands‑on engineer, working closely with Architects, Principal Engineers, and Trading SMEs to design, build, review, test, and deliver mission‑critical, high‑performance systems end‑to‑end.</li><li>Contribute to engineering deliverables throughout the full lifecycle, ensuring performance, scalability, resilience, and alignment with engineering best practices.</li><li>Drive innovation through POCs, technical evaluations, and continuous improvement initiatives.</li><li>Communicate progress proactively, highlighting risks and removing delivery impediments.</li></ul>Experience / CompetencesEssential<ul><li>Hands-on experience building and supporting latency‑sensitive front‑office trading systems (OMS, Matching, Execution).</li><li>Strong background in designing and maintaining distributed, event‑driven, cloud‑native applications.</li><li>Strong understanding of low‑latency engineering, concurrency, multithreading, and performance optimisation.</li><li>Comprehensive SDLC experience across design, development, QA, deployment, and production support.</li><li>Ability to balance rapid delivery with architectural rigour and long‑term maintainability.</li><li>Strong relational database design and optimisation skills (MSSQL, MySQL).</li><li>Proven problem‑solving capabilities and ability to validate ideas through POCs.</li><li>Experience building automated testing frameworks for complex distributed systems.</li><li>Ability to engage effectively with traders, quants, and other business stakeholders.</li></ul>Desired<ul><li>Domain experience in Credit or Fixed Income.</li><li>Expertise in modern .NET technologies and C# (Java or similar OO languages considered).</li><li>Experience implementing observability (metrics, tracing, logging) for distributed systems.</li><li>Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerisation (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes/EKS).</li><li>Knowledge of distributed messaging and caching technologies (e.g., Solace, Redis, or similar).</li><li>Understanding of FIX protocol and FIX message handling.</li><li>Hands-on experience with AWS, microservices, and serverless patterns.</li><li>Familiarity with React and DAPR (nice to have).</li><li>Understanding of TDD, BDD, or similar testing methodologies.</li></ul>Role Band &amp; Level: Professional, 5#LI-Hybrid #LI-ASONot The Perfect Fit?Concerned that you may not meet the criteria precisely?
