This role supervises purchasing staff, manages supplier relationships, and negotiates pricing and contracts with a focus on cost control, quality, and on-time delivery. Collaboration with production planning, engineering, and inventory teams to align material availability to support production demands.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Lead, coach, develop and supervise a team of buyers and purchasing staff</li><li>Train, assign, and delegate responsibilities/projects</li><li>Follow up on performance progress, audit work, and provide feedback to each team member                                                                          </li><li>Manage sourcing of materials and components to meet cost, quality, and delivery targets</li><li>Track and control bill of materials (BOM) costs, especially during product launches</li><li>Ensure on-time delivery and supplier capacity to support production schedules</li><li>Coordinate program reviews, monitor progress, and manage risks</li><li>Develop bid lists and support sourcing strategies aligned with company goals and commodity strategies</li><li>Identify cost-savings and improvement opportunities and address budget gaps</li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, etc.)</li><li>Generate reports, action plans, and updates for leadership</li><li>Oversee supplier performance, tooling, and launch readiness activities</li><li>Support smooth transition from product launch to full production</li><li>Ensure compliance with quality standards, audits, and company procedures</li><li>Promote safe work practices and resolve safety issues</li><li>Maintain organized work areas and proper material handling</li><li>Step in to support purchasing activities as needed and perform other assigned duties</li></ul>What We’re Looking For<ul><li>5+ years of purchasing or program or project management experience working in an industrial production purchasing environment with preference for globally supported environment</li><li>3+ years of supervisory experience preferred</li><li>Bachelor 's Degree in Supply Chain Management/Engineering/Business Management or equivalent specialty required</li><li>Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) a plus</li><li>Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team</li><li>Project Management or Program Management skills</li><li>Team Leader, Critical Analysis, and excellent Negotiation Skills</li><li>Strong Interpersonal Skills</li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, eRFQ, Web based tracking software, and ERP systems knowledge a plus.</li><li>Must be self-motivated/directed. Required to determine most, if not all, of own work assignments; both tactical and strategic.
