This individual will work closely with multiple functional groups to meet business needs. This includes running analyses, performing routine instrument maintenance, documenting results, and instrument performance. ResponsibilitiesYou will work on a varied set of instrumentation/projects and have a diverse set of responsibilities including:Execute analytical test methods for testing materials on a range of standard instrumentation and in-house built measurement systems.<ul><li>Prepare and analyze materials according to documented Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)</li><li>Provide process development and quality support with fast turnaround to enable material manufacturing</li><li>Review data to ensure completeness</li><li>Report sample analysis within Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for internal customers</li><li>Learn analytical techniques and methods to expand characterization knowledge and capabilities including on-the job training, training courses and online materials</li><li>Support special projects; write and review SOPs. Ensure analyses are performed as outlined in the procedures</li><li>Participate in repeatability and reproducibility (Gage R&amp;R) and measurement system analytics for the various analytical equipment and methods</li></ul>Perform routine preventative maintenance on analytical instruments to ensure proper working condition and quality data.<ul><li>Calibrate instruments using reference materials and defined procedures</li><li>Maintain analytical instruments and equipment for testing activities</li><li>Troubleshoot sample preparation or instrumental problems to determine cause and resolution of operational issues</li><li>Document detailed calibration and maintenance records</li><li>Maintain instrumental and laboratory supplies</li></ul>Contribute to work process improvements to enhance data quality and workflow efficiency.<ul><li>Observe and comply with company health, safety, and quality policies</li><li>Maintain and continuously improve analytical processes and workflows</li><li>Communicate with all team members to promote a positive culture within the laboratory</li><li>Work with multiple functional groups to meet business needs</li><li>Remain flexible and adapt to variety on the job (e.g., effectively handling unexpected situations and changing priorities) </li></ul> Qualifications<ul><li>Associates degree in Chemistry or related scientific field with a minimum of 1-3 years’ experience and knowledge of physical/chemical properties. A Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, or Analytical Chemistry is preferred.</li><li>Experience using a variety of analytical equipment is desirable. Gas Adsorption, Microscopy, Physical Property Analysis, and/or X-ray experience are beneficial</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Sheets/Docs.
