Collaborating closely with stakeholders across the organization – Engineering, Product, Operations, Partnerships – you will deliver analytic solutions and timely insights by asking the right questions of our data. This role requires someone who takes initiative, drives projects end-to-end, and holds themselves accountable to outcomes.What You Will Do<ul><li>Lead cross-functional initiatives to define, implement, and iterate on measurement and analysis of our Virtual Power Plant (VPP).</li><li>Proactively analyze and interpret complex data to uncover critical business, product, and user insights. Propose strategies for improving both the systems powering our VPP and the tools used by our energy industry partners. </li><li>Synthesize large-scale, disparate datasets — including smart meter data, device telemetry, settlement data, and logs — to aid in increasing the impact of our VPP products and services.</li><li>Build source of truth data models in DBT that serve as the foundation for reporting and decision-making.</li><li>Define and monitor KPIs to evaluate the success of new product features and business initiatives.</li><li>Influence product and business strategy by effectively communicating analytical results, recommendations, and tradeoffs to stakeholders across all levels of the organization.</li><li>Partner with engineers to define appropriate data instrumentation for new product features.</li><li>Perform statistical analysis and build predictive models on user interactions and smart device data to drive business recommendations and product strategy.</li><li>Contribute to the culture and workflows of the Product Analytics team – advocate for analytic best practices, introduce new tools and processes, perform code reviews, support your peers, and coach more junior members.</li></ul>Requirements<ul><ul><li>5+ years of experience in analytics, analytics engineering, or data science.</li><li>Fluency in SQL and deep experience with columnar data warehouses (e.g. Redshift, BigQuery), including dimensional modeling, query optimization, and warehouse design principles</li><li>Proficiency in Python for data analysis (e.g. Pandas, NumPy, Jupyter)</li><li>Solid foundation in statistics including causal inference, experimentation, and simulation.</li><li>Ability to work through ambiguity, excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail.</li><li>Strong product intuition and ability to connect data insights to the user experience and business outcomes.</li></ul></ul><ul><li>Preferred Qualifications:</li><ul><li>Strong preference for experience in the energy space (energy markets, smart devices, or home energy systems), or a demonstrated interest in the domain with evidence of self-driven learning or research.</li><li>Experience may include (one or more of the following):</li><ul><li>Energy industry knowledge or experience with energy markets</li><li>Experience with smart energy devices such as thermostats, EVs, solar, batteries, and water heaters</li><li>Understanding of building/home energy systems and physics</li></ul><li>Experience with DBT and workflow orchestration platforms like Prefect/Airflow.</li><li>Experience with the AWS cloud computing ecosystem including: Redshift, s3, ZeroETL, ecs, Lambda.</li><li>Experience with AI/ML tools/frameworks (e.g. Scikit-learn, Tensorflow, PyTorch, Prophet).</li></ul></ul>BenefitsWhat You'll Get<ul><li>A full-time position, with a competitive salary based on experience. The base salary for this role is: $155k - $195k.
