This role sets the legal vision for Energy Solutions and translates that vision into practical strategies that protect the company and accelerate its growth.The General Counsel leads and develops the Legal Team, including the Contracts and Compliance functions, and is accountable for building a high-performing, business-oriented legal organization. Exceptional communication skills are essential: the General Counsel must engage credibly with the Board, C-Suite, clients, regulators, and opposing counsel, and must distill complex legal issues into clear, actionable guidance for non-legal audiences. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:  <ul><li style="font-family:'times new roman' , times , serif;font-size:14pt;">Serve as strategic counsel to Leadership and C-Suite on legal and regulatory developments that shape Energy Solutions’ business, translating risk into clear, commercially grounded recommendations</li><li style="font-family:'times new roman' , times , serif;font-size:14pt;">Partner with the executive team to identify, prioritize, and manage enterprise legal risk, and deliver proactive, business-forward advice that enables decision-making at the speed of the business</li><li style="font-family:'times new roman' , times , serif;font-size:14pt;">Evaluate contracts prior to execution to identify legal and commercial risk, negotiate favorable terms, and confirm alignment with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies</li><li style="font-family:'times new roman' , times , serif;font-size:14pt;">Anticipate legal and commercial risks in new business lines and design contract structures and templates that enable growth while protecting the company</li><li style="font-family:'times new roman' , times , serif;font-size:14pt;">Lead, mentor, and develop the Legal, Contracts, and Compliance team, refining a collaborative, high-performing legal function aligned to the company’s strategic priorities</li><li style="font-family:'times new roman' , times , serif;font-size:14pt;">Shape the development and implementation of organizational contract requirements, policies and procedures that align with the companies’ mission, values, and strategic direction, while maintaining best practices and protection against legal, regulatory, and liability issues   </li><li style="font-family:'times new roman' , times , serif;font-size:14pt;">Determine and execute litigation and dispute resolution strategy, directing outside counsel as needed and owning case outcomes on behalf of the company</li><li style="font-family:'times new roman' , times , serif;font-size:14pt;">Select, direct, and manage outside counsel as needed to deliver high-quality results efficiently and on budget</li></ul> Minimum qualifications:  <ul><li style="font-family:'times new roman' , times , serif;font-size:14pt;">Juris doctor from an accredited law school required </li><li style="font-family:'times new roman' , times , serif;font-size:14pt;">10 years of legal experience </li><li style="font-family:'times new roman' , times , serif;font-size:14pt;">In-depth experience with contract negotiations and commercial law</li><li style="font-family:'times new roman' , times , serif;font-size:14pt;">Legal leadership experience (supervising attorneys, para-legals, and contracts professionals) </li><li style="font-family:'times new roman' , times , serif;font-size:14pt;">Proven experience building, leading, and mentoring a high-performing legal team</li><li style="font-family:'times new roman' , times , serif;font-size:14pt;">Executive presence and the ability to communicate credibly and persuasively with the Board, C-Suite, clients, regulators, and staff at all levels</li><li style="font-family:'times new roman' , times , serif;font-size:14pt;">Exceptional written and verbal communication, negotiation, and organizational skills, with the ability to distill complex legal issues into clear, actionable guidance</li><li style="font-family:'times new roman' , times , serif;font-size:14pt;">Strong legal writing, project management and record keeping skills </li><li style="font-family:'times new roman' , times , serif;font-size:14pt;">Extensive experience using Microsoft Office and a contract management platform</li><li style="font-family:'times new roman' , times , serif;font-size:14pt;">Ability to work well with a variety of team members and thrive independently  </li></ul> The salary range for this role is $195,000 - $300,000, with a target compensation of $195,000 - $232,000 plus Bonus based on experience and qualifications.   <div>Compensation is commensurate with experience and includes a generous retirement package.
