Must have a knowledge of the distortion effects of welding heat, and must be able to keep distortion to a minimum. Responsible for checking parts for compliance with prints before welding. Set up and operate hand and machine acetylene burning equipment; locate from drawings and burn openings in tanks and components. May perform brazing and aluminum welding on transformer conductors and conductor assemblies. May check tanks for leaks, remove weld splatter, dirt and scale, clean tanks and parts as required. Perform other assigned duties elsewhere in the department as needed.
