<div>The General Assembly (GA) Process Engineer is responsible for designing, optimizing, and maintaining the assembly sequences and manufacturing processes for Zoox's autonomous robots. This role serves as the bridge between R&amp;D and high-volume production. Beyond technical process design, you will collaborate cross-functionally with Hardware Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to troubleshoot assembly bottlenecks and drive the evolution of our current and future vehicle platforms in a fast-paced , innovative environment. </div><br><br><h3>In this role, you will</h3><ul><div><li><p>Develop assembly sequences and layout detailed process steps.</p></li><li><p>Execute line balancing studies to achieve production targets and optimize station cycle times.</p></li><li><p>Manage and perform engineering line trials to ensure rapid implementation with minimal disruption to the assembly line.</p></li><li><p>Provide critical feedback during design reviews for future programs to improve manufacturability, tool access, and ergonomics.</p></li><li><p>Act as a primary point of contact for troubleshooting complex design, process, and quality issues on the line.</p></li><li><p>Develop and maintain 100% accurate step-by-step assembly guides for all stations using tools like Dozuki/Oxygen</p></li><li><p>Act as a technical leader, sharing knowledge and guiding junior engineers through complex technical challenges.</p></li></div></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><div><li><p>Education: Bachelor’s or Master's degree in an engineering discipline (Mechanical, Automotive, or Aerospace preferred).</p></li><li><p>Experience: 8+ years of experience in manufacturing operations or automotive OEM environments, with a proven track record leading technical projects at a Senior or Staff Engineer level. </p></li><li><p>Technical Expertise:</p></li><li><p>Proficiency in 3DX/CATIA/Delmia for virtual builds and process planning.</p></li><li><p>Line Balancing experience</p></li><li><p>Deep understanding of GD&amp;T, dimensional variance analysis, and metrology.</p></li><li><p>Familiarity with torque tools (Atlas Copco) and fastening processes.</p></li><li><p>Experience with Closures Systems (ie Doors, Glazings, and Dynamic Sealing Systems)</p></li><li><p>Methodologies: Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, PFMEA, 8D Problem Solving, and MODAPTS</p></li><li><p>Certifications: Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt Certification</p></li></div></ul><br><div><b>About Zoox</b></div><div>Zoox is developing the first ground-up, fully autonomous vehicle fleet and the supporting ecosystem required to bring this technology to market.
