Acumen is seeking a Compensation Consultant. This is a short-term consulting opportunity. The incumbent will be someone who has had experience setting up and implementing compensation benchmarks in a start-up, private sector, or in non-profit organizations. This person will work under the leadership of the Director of Talent. This role is located in NYC (lower Manhattan). The exercise will include reviewing all current roles (from entry to Executive levels), internal equity, and benchmarking them against market data of similar roles and organizations.Objectives:<ul><li>An updated compensation benchmark for the US (with a focus on the East Coast and West Coast).</li><li>A new compensation benchmark for the United Kingdom</li><li>A new compensation benchmark for Canada.</li></ul>The incumbent will lead an org-wide compensation benchmarking project by analyzing and comparing the organization's current pay structures against market data to ensure competitive and equitable salaries. They'll use industry-specific surveys, job evaluations, and peer group analysis, salary survey data, and implement a pay structure design. We will be investing in the comp data acquisition.Key Responsibilities include:  <ul><li>Accessing Salary Surveys &amp; Market Data databases to determine competitive pay for specific roles.</li><li>Job Analysis &amp; Evaluation: Comparing internal roles based on accountabilities, skill requirements, and levels to match with external market data.</li><li>Pay Structure Design: Develop salary grades and bands that align with company compensation philosophy.</li><li>Total Rewards Strategy: Evaluating base salary, bonuses, and long-term incentives to create comprehensive compensation packages.</li><li>Pay Equity Studies: Analyzing compensation for gender or racial gaps to ensure compliance and fairness. </li></ul>Required Qualifications<ul><li>Experience: 8–10 years in compensation, HR analytics, or finance.</li><li>Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP), HRIS proficiency, and knowledge of compensation regulations.</li><li>Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or Finance.</li><li>Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), preferred</li></ul>Deadline Candidates are encouraged to apply as early as possible as applications will be reviewed and interviews scheduled on a rolling basis.Compensation The salary range for this role is $75,000 to $90,000/yr ($35 - $45/hourly).
