With plans to launch our aircraft in the US and Dubai, we're now scaling manufacturing and preparing for the launch of our commercial service.</p><h2>Overview</h2><p>Joby Aviation is looking for a for a Cook to join our tight-knit team. We operate as a small, collaborative unit where everyone helps out with all tasks, from high-heat grilling and precision prep to ensuring a spotless kitchen. You will be a valued team member helping to provide a great experience for our staff members. A key part of this role involves supporting our team across different sites.</p><p>We are currently hiring for two specific shift rotations.</p><ul> <li><p>Rotation A: Wednesday - Sunday (Off Monday/Tuesday)</p></li> <li><p>Rotation B: Friday - Tuesday (Off Wednesday/Thursday)</p></li></ul><p>Daily Hours:</p><ul> <li><p>Weekdays: 5:30 AM - 2:00 PM, Fridays 4:30 AM-1:00 PM</p></li> <li><p>Weekends: 4:30 AM - 1:00 PM</p></li></ul><h2>Responsibilities</h2><ul> <li>Prepare high-quality ingredients (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)</li> <li>Execute various cooking methods (grilling, baking, boiling)</li> <li>Check ingredient quality and ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before service</li> <li>Maintain a pristine kitchen environment, ensuring all stations are organized, sanitized, and set up for maximum efficiency</li> <li>Manage the proper labeling, rotation, and storage of all food items, strictly adhering to health and safety standards</li> <li>Load/unload dishwashers and hand-wash specialized items (large pots, wooden boards, delicate china)</li> <li>Store clean dishes, glasses and equipment appropriately</li> <li>Set up workstations before meal prep begins</li> <li><p>Safely transport meals to our Watsonville site using a company vehicle, managing the setup, service, and breakdown of remote dining areas</p></li> <li><p>Proactively stock snack and beverage stations and maintain a welcoming, clean service area</p></li></ul><h2>Required</h2><ul> <li>Proven experience as a cook with a deep understanding of various cooking procedures and kitchen equipment</li> <li>A valid CA Driver’s License and a clean driving record.</li> <li>Experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware</li> <li>Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)</li> <li>Ability to follow all sanitation procedures</li> <li>Ability to work in a team</li> <li>Strong interpersonal skills, you work well under pressure and communicate clearly with teammates</li> <li>Excellent time management skills and the flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends</li> <li>High school diploma or GED</li></ul><h2>Desired</h2><ul> <li>Culinary school diploma</li> <li>Honesty: We encourage a safe environment where open and honest communication is a standard business practice.</li> <li>Attitude is Everything: It all starts with having the right mindset. The target base pay for this position is $23-$30/hr.
