We invite passionate individuals to join our team, dedicated to exceeding customer expectations through innovative and sustainable solutions.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Work on mechanical design optimization of pumps, motors, and rotating components with focus on value improvement</li><li>Support design‑to‑cost initiatives during New Product Development (NPD) and product upgrades</li><li>Perform BOM analysis to identify cost drivers and design improvement opportunities</li><li>Propose design alternatives, material substitutions, and part standardization concepts that maintain performance and reliability</li><li>Apply DFM/DFA principles to improve manufacturability and assembly efficiency</li><li>Support supplier technical evaluations and feasibility discussions from a design perspective</li><li>Create and modify 3D models, drawings, and engineering documentation</li><li>Support engineering change management (ECR/ECO) and validation activities</li><li>Participate in cross‑functional VAVE workshops and design reviews</li><li>Prepare optimized design concepts, validate that, analyze FEA reports.</li><li>Prepare Business Cases, evaluate financial feasibility.</li></ul><div></div>Required Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering</li><li>5-7 years of experience in mechanical engineering roles with exposure to:<ul><li>Mechanical Design Engineering OR</li><li>Pump design, rotating equipment, or fluid handling systems</li><li>New Product Development (NPD) or product engineering</li></ul></li><li>Basic understanding of Value Analysis / Value Engineering principles</li></ul><div></div>Required Technical Skills<ul><li>Strong fundamentals in mechanical design and machine elements</li><li>Understanding of pump components, rotating parts, and fluid handling systems</li><li>Experience with 3D CAD tools (Creo / SolidWorks / AutoCAD)</li><li>Knowledge of manufacturing processes: casting, machining, fabrication, assembly</li><li>Basic understanding of materials used in pump and water applications</li><li>Familiarity with GD&amp;T and engineering drawings</li><li>Awareness of DFM/DFA and design optimization concepts</li></ul><div>&lt;&gt;·</div>Desired Skills &amp; Attributes<ul><li>SAVE certification</li><li>Awareness of VAVE, Design-to-Cost, or Cost Reduction methodologies</li><li>Exposure to DFMEA / PFMEA or Six Sigma concepts (preferred)</li><li>Experience or familiarity with ERP/PLM systems (SAP, Teamcenter, Windchill)</li><li>Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills</li><li>Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and global teams</li></ul>Join the global Xylem team to be a part of innovative technology solutions transforming water usage, conservation, and re-use.
