<h2>The Role</h2>You will own firmware for the GridIQ’s edge device: low-power state management, RF acquisition scheduling, cellular data transport, OTA updates, and production test firmware. The device operates autonomously in the field for months. You will collaborate with hardware engineering on board bring-up and with the platform team on the device-to-cloud protocol. <h2>Responsibilities</h2><ul><li>Write and maintain production firmware</li><li>Build and optimize the low-power sleep/wake state machine; validate with power analyzer</li><li>Implement cellular modem integration: connection management, data transport over cellular</li><li>Develop and maintain OTA firmware update with integrity verification and rollback</li><li>Integrate hardware peripherals (SPI, I2C, UART, ADC, DMA) and maintain BSP/HAL layers</li><li>Device bring-up and troubleshooting</li><li>Develop initial build provisioning process for manufacturing</li><li>Write production test firmware for use in the manufacturing test</li></ul> <h2>Qualifications</h2><ul><li>5+ years of embedded firmware development with at least one product shipped on bare-metal or RTOS platform</li><li>Strong C; working knowledge of C++ in embedded context</li><li>Experience with Zynq or similar SoC platforms&nbsp;</li><li>Embedded Linux: device trees, kernel modules, cross-compilation&nbsp;</li><li>Experience with low-power ARM Cortex-M: sleep modes, clock gating, measured current profiling</li><li>Cellular modem integration experience (AT command interface, connection lifecycle)</li><li>Python</li><li>Comfort with hardware debug tools: JTAG/SWD, logic analyzer, oscilloscope</li></ul> <h2>Nice to Have</h2><ul><li>DSP on embedded devices</li><li>MQTT or CoAP for IoT data transport</li><li>Secure boot and firmware signing</li><li>Verilog or VHDL</li><li>Experience with RTOS platform</li></ul>
