Key ResponsibilitiesIn this role the Multiphysics Design Engineer will be responsible for the following:<ul style=""><li style="color:rgb(118,113,113);font-size:10pt;margin:3px 0px;letter-spacing:0.25px;line-height:1.6;text-align:justify;">Support the end‑to‑end design and optimisation of radial-flux and axial‑flux electric machines, including electromagnetic topology selection, sizing, Multiphysics optimisation, and performance prediction across electrical, thermal, and structural domains.</li><li style="font-size:11pt;margin:3px 0px;letter-spacing:0.25px;line-height:1.6;text-align:justify;">Conduct detailed thermal and structural analyses to ensure motor performance, reliability, cooling efficiency, and mechanical integrity under all operating conditions.</li><li style="font-size:11pt;margin:3px 0px;letter-spacing:0.25px;line-height:1.6;text-align:justify;">Perform electromagnetic, thermal and structural FEA using industry standard tools</li><li style="font-size:11pt;margin:3px 0px;letter-spacing:0.25px;line-height:1.6;text-align:justify;">Support drawing creation, prototype builds, testing and validation activities through multiple development phases</li><li style="font-size:11pt;margin:3px 0px;letter-spacing:0.25px;line-height:1.6;text-align:justify;">Work closely with mechanical, manufacturing and control teams to ensure seamless integration produce detailed design reports, specifications, and technical documentation</li><li style="font-size:11pt;margin:3px 0px;letter-spacing:0.25px;line-height:1.6;text-align:justify;">Support research into new materials, motor concepts and advance cooling concepts, and manufacturing improvements</li><li style="font-size:11pt;margin:3px 0px;letter-spacing:0.25px;line-height:1.6;text-align:justify;">Identify the opportunities to enhance motor performance, cost, manufacturability and efficiency</li><li style="font-size:11pt;margin:3px 0px;letter-spacing:0.25px;line-height:1.6;text-align:justify;">Involvement in the creation of project plans, with input to technical delivery, time plans and budgeting</li><li style="font-size:11pt;margin:3px 0px;letter-spacing:0.25px;line-height:1.6;text-align:justify;">Supporting the Quality department in investigations and inspection activities as well as assisting with improvements to company processes/procedures including manufacturing</li><li style="font-size:11pt;margin:3px 0px;letter-spacing:0.25px;line-height:1.6;text-align:justify;">Supporting the product team with the development of market analyses and gaining insights into customer needs.</li></ul>The Requirements<ul style=""><li style="color:rgb(118,113,113);font-size:10pt;margin:3px 0px;letter-spacing:0.25px;line-height:1.6;text-align:justify;">Strong understanding of electromagnetics, electric motor physics, and thermal behaviour.</li><li style="font-size:11pt;margin:3px 0px;letter-spacing:0.25px;line-height:1.6;text-align:justify;">Proficiency with finite‑element analysis tools such as CFD, Ansys Maxwell, Ansys Mechanical, Siemens, JMag, and MotorCAD.</li><li style="font-size:11pt;margin:3px 0px;letter-spacing:0.25px;line-height:1.6;text-align:justify;">Ability to interpret test data and correlate findings with simulation results.</li><li style="font-size:11pt;margin:3px 0px;letter-spacing:0.25px;line-height:1.6;text-align:justify;">Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills</li><li style="font-size:11pt;margin:3px 0px;letter-spacing:0.25px;line-height:1.6;text-align:justify;">Ability to work effectively within a multi‑disciplinary team and manage multiple projects concurrently.</li><li style="font-size:11pt;margin:3px 0px;letter-spacing:0.25px;line-height:1.6;text-align:justify;">Ability to create technical documentation and presentations.</li></ul> Qualifications<ul style=""><li style="color:rgb(118,113,113);font-size:10pt;margin:3px 0px;letter-spacing:0.25px;line-height:1.6;text-align:justify;">A degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering at a minimum of 2:2 classification is required.
