Lead Maintenance Mechanic - Water Treatment Utility

Lauderdale’s water treatment facility. We take pride in caring for the City’s facilities, both inside and out, and are looking for a conscientious Lead Maintenance Mechanic to help us maintain our standards for providing safe, clean water to the community!  If you enjoy working both indoors and outdoors protecting nature’s precious resource, water, then this position is for you.  Woodard &amp; Curran is dedicated to our employee’s growth and development and wants to help you on your career path. Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7.00am – 3.30pm. Participate in an on-call rotation on weekends, holidays, and outside normal workday hours. Will be required to respond to emergency or unpredicted situations. What You Will Be Doing at Woodard &amp; Curran: The ideal candidate will perform routine, preventive and corrective maintenance of a water treatment facility. Essential duties are, but not limited to: <ul><li>Perform all routine, preventive and corrective maintenance assignments that are assigned to by the project's preventive maintenance and repair program.</li><li>Perform housekeeping duties in the maintenance department and on maintenance vehicles as assigned by the project’s manager.</li><li>Perform all work in a safe and professional manner by following established safety, operating, and emergency response procedures.</li><li>Perform all work to produce a result which meets all goals and objectives set by the project’s manager.</li><li>Participate in the installation, service, maintenance, and repair of pumps, motors, chlorinators, and other machinery and equipment.</li><li>Review equipment manuals and maintenance records to develop work plans.</li><li>Perform welding, acetylene burning, brazing, soldering, minor carpentry, and painting, as assigned.</li><li>Complete and submit reports of work activities.</li><li>Maintain and adjust plant equipment to achieve the best possible treatment results and to maintain compliance with the plant operating permit.</li><li>Perform daily checks of the facility to document operational status and maintenance requirements. </li></ul>  What You Will Need To Succeed: <ul><li>High School or trade school diploma is required. Courses in mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation maintenance are a plus.</li><li>Minimum of seven years’ experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment. </li><li>Knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Office programs, computerized maintenance programs and computerized databases including SCADA.</li><li>Experience with the maintenance of pumps, compressors, and plumbing fixtures.</li><li>A valid State of Florida driver’s license. </li><li>Working knowledge of methods, tools, and materials used in the development, construction, and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment employed in the operation of water treatment systems. </li><li>Knowledge of the National Electric Code.</li><li>Knowledge in the principal operation of programmable logic controllers and industrial electronics.</li><li>Safely perform varied mechanical skills, including gas and/or arc welding; read, interpret, and update technical manuals, drawings and specifications for work assigned.
