This position will involve applying fundamental engineering and scientific techniques to real-world problems in failure analysis, risk mitigation, and product development. As a Principal Engineer, you will cultivate relationships with your existing clients, identify new business opportunities, lead teams to perform leading-edge technical analyses, and contribute to the growth of our Electrical Engineering &amp; Computer Science Practice.    </p><h2>You will be responsible for</h2><ul> <li>Leading projects for failure analysis, root cause analysis investigations, product development and expert witness engagements in requisite areas of expertise</li> <li>Identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities, and promoting Exponent through industry and legal contacts</li> <li>Significantly contributing to increasing Exponent's electrical engineering and/or computer science/engineering consulting efforts</li> <li>Providing strategic consulting and expert witness work</li> <li>Providing project management and project budget oversight</li> <li>Developing and mentoring staff in both technical and business areas</li> <li>Guiding and performing testing and analysis of electrical and electronics field failures</li> <li>Performing laboratory experiments and analytical or computational modeling</li> <li>Planning and executing testing programs</li> <li>Preparing written reports, proposals, and presentations</li> <li>Domestic and international travel will likely be required</li> <li>Most assignments will require the ability to gather information from, and convey technical conclusions to, individuals in engineering, the legal profession, business and industry</li></ul><h2>You will have the following skills and qualifications</h2><ul> <li>Ph.D. or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, Physics, or a related field</li> <li>A practical and theoretical understanding of fundamental principles in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Computer Science, and applying them in identifying solutions to complex technical problems</li> <li>Significant demonstrated experience generating business and managing client relationships, and a robust existing client base, is required</li> <li>A proven track record of success in technical consulting in area(s) such as in: Power Engineering and Energy; Electronics and Semiconductors; Control Systems and Automation</li> <li>Prior experience delivering expert witness testimony is required</li> <li>Current Chartered Engineer (CEng), if applicable</li> <li>Excellent written and verbal communications skills</li> <li>Ability to gather information from, and convey technical conclusions to, individuals in engineering, the legal profession, business and industry</li></ul><p><em>Applicants are encouraged to submit a CV (Curriculum Vitae) with publications (feel free to include publications that are in review or pending) [not restricted to 1 page]. </em></p><h2>Life @ Exponent</h2><p>To learn more about life at Exponent and our impact, please visit the following links:https://www.exponent.com/careers/life-exponent https://www.exponent.com/company/our-impact</p><p> </p><p>Attracting, inspiring, developing, and rewarding exceptional people with diverse backgrounds and expertise are central to our corporate culture.
