AECOM Hunt is seeking senior construction leaders for our Sports construction vertical.to support current and future construction projects.Position OverviewThe Vice President of Construction – Sports  provides executive leadership for field operations across complex, high-profile sports and entertainment projects. This includes stadiums, arenas, training facilities, and mixed-use developments tied to sports venues.This role is responsible for ensuring seamless execution in highly visible, schedule-driven environments—often tied to fixed event deadlines—while maintaining excellence in safety, quality, and operational performance.Provides executive leadership for field operations across complex sports and relevant infrastructure projects. This role oversees multiple concurrent programs—including arenas, staging areas, parking facilities, concourses, and support facilities—ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality execution.This role plays a critical role in aligning field operations with project delivery strategies, maintaining strict regulatory compliance, and minimizing disruption to ongoing operations.This opportunity is tied to projects across multiple U.S. markets. Candidates should be open to travel and/or temporary relocation depending on project location.Core ResponsibilitiesSports Operations Leadership<ul><li>Lead field operations across major sports-related construction programs, including demolition, ground up, MEP, interior, back-end operations, parking or other related structures.  </li><li>Provide oversight to General Superintendents, Superintendents, and field teams across multiple job sites</li><li>Review, analyze, socialize and standardize sports-related field execution practices across projects and regions</li><li>Ensure seamless coordination between field teams and local authorities and owners, investors</li></ul>Project Execution in Active Environments<ul><li>Direct construction activities in operational/active settings scheduling segments with a minimal affect/disruption to ongoing operations</li><li>Oversee phasing, logistics, and access planning in secure and constrained environments</li><li>Ensure strict adherence to project schedules, including night work, shutdown windows, and phased turnover requirements</li></ul>Safety <ul><li>Champion a safety-first culture with emphasis on facility/construction safety protocols and zero-incident performance</li><li>Coordinate with Safety Representatives to oversee incident response and continuous safety improvement initiatives</li></ul>Quality Assurance &amp; Regulatory Compliance<ul><li>Enforce rigorous quality control standards</li><li>Partner with Quality Control Representatives to ensure the highest level of quality</li></ul>Operational &amp; Financial Performance<ul><li>Partner with Project Executives and Operations leadership to ensure projects meet financial and performance targets</li><li>Monitor productivity, cost control, and labor utilization across projects</li><li>Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency in complex builds</li></ul>Stakeholder &amp; Client Leadership<ul><li>Serve as a senior point of contact for JV partners, owners, and key stakeholders</li><li>Build strong relationships to support repeat business in sports markets</li><li>Represent field operations in executive-level meetings, progress reviews, and client presentations</li></ul>Talent Development &amp; Workforce Strategy<ul><li>Lead development of high-performing field teams with sports expertise</li><li>Mentor General Superintendents and emerging field leaders</li><li>Support recruitment and retention strategies for specialized construction talent</li></ul>Why This Role MattersSports and entertainment projects are among the most visible and schedule-sensitive in the industry.
