Lead Field Service Technician

We want you to have a sense of belonging and feel valued for your contributions and the perspectives you bring. Summary:  The Lead Technician will lead a team of Field Service Technicians with operating and maintaining utility scale solar facilities. This work includes preventative and corrective maintenance of on-site assets such as solar panels, trackers, power inverters, and substation components. Requirements:    <ul><li>Mentors and sets positive example for junior technicians.</li><li>Collaborates with senior line managers for plant maintenance.</li><li>Troubleshoots low voltage DC power systems.</li><li>Troubleshoots low voltage, medium voltage, and high voltage AC power systems.</li><li>Conducts preventative maintenance on AC and DC power systems.</li><li>Identifies faulty or underperforming equipment.</li><li>Utilizes hand tools effectively and appropriately.</li><li>Utilizes a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).</li><li>Maintains inventory of spare parts and consumables.</li><li>Assist in development of site operating plans.</li><li>Follows site safety plan and safe work practices.</li><li>Adheres to proper Lock-out-tag-out (LOTO) practices and procedures.</li><li>Interfaces with project stakeholders (owners, equipment manufacturers, etc.).</li><li>Interfaces with project subcontractors.</li><li>Represents RES in professional manner to project stakeholders.</li><li>Responds to physical location within 1.5 hours for emergency calls identified as a priority by Operations Control Center.</li><li>Operates RES company vehicles, including trucks, in accordance with state and federal laws and RES policies.</li><li>Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.</li><li>Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct and Company Policies &amp; Procedures.</li><li>Rotating on-call schedule for emergency response.</li><li>Presents, supports, and leads by example with a safety and quality-oriented attitude.</li></ul> Safety: <ul><li>Follows safety and security procedures and determines appropriate action.  Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly. </li><li>Ensures that safety is the most important function, follows safe practices while working.</li><li>Reinforces safe behaviors and eliminates “at risk” behaviors.</li><li>Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.</li><li>Ensures Job Hazard Analysis (JHA’s) occurs before scopes of work commence.</li><li>Adheres to and understands standard operating procedures.</li><li>Receives job- and task-specific training prior to work commencing.</li></ul> Leadership: <ul><li>Fosters and demonstrates a workplace inclusive of creating opportunity, serving others, building trust, innovation, and exceeding expectations.</li><li>Manages one or more direct reports.</li><li>Participates in hiring and selection process to fill positions on the team.</li><li>Communicates regularly with direct reports on goals, accomplishments, and information on policies.</li><li>Demonstrates leadership and expertise in eyes of client group.</li><li>Employee Development:<ul><li>Provides tasks and assignments that challenge and stretch employees’ responsibilities.</li><li>Conducts regular discussions with employee(s) on personal development. Comfortable with empowering others.</li><li>Conducts timely, effective performance reviews in accordance with RES guidelines.  </li></ul></li></ul> Qualifications: <ul><li>High school/GED General Education required.</li><li>Associates Degree related Technical Degree preferred.</li><li>Certification OSHA 10/30 preferred.</li><li>Certification FAA Part 107 Drone Pilot preferred.</li><li>4+ years or more related electrical maintenance experience required.</li><li>2+ years or more Medium voltage electrical work experience required.</li><li>1+ years or more High voltage electrical work experience preferred. </li><li>Intermediate<ul><li>High voltage electrical power systems.</li><li>Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)</li><li>Advanced, low, medium, high voltage electrical power systems, drawings and circuit theory.</li><li>OSHA regulations.</li><li>Hand tools.</li><li>Job hazard analysis (JHA) creation.</li><li>Electrical tools (multimeter, IR camera).</li><li>ANSI/NETA/MTS.</li><li>SCADA systems.</li></ul></li><li>Ability to reside with a maximum commuting distance of 60 minutes from the work site to ensure availability for on-site responsibilities.</li><li>Functional Competencies Include:  Collaboration, Attention to Detail, Ethics &amp; Integrity, Communication and Prioritization.</li><li>Domestic travel 5-15% required.</li></ul><ul><li>Valid Driver’s License required.</li></ul> Anticipated base salary range:  $38.13 - $47.66 The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. RES offers benefits.
