Job Overview: Hourly wage of $33.87The plant mechanics job is to carry out repairs, prefab work, and preventative maintenance and repair assessment. The responsibilities encompass the entire plant site.Job Responsibilities:<ul><li>Operate under direction of plant supervision.</li><li>Perform repairs to structural and non-structural equipment around the MR Plant and assist with non-mechanical duties such as welding repairs.</li><li>Follow lockout procedures and make sure work area is safe and free of debris.</li><li>Ensure that all guards are in place in the immediate work area and inspect equipment for damage or leaks and report accordingly.</li><li>Maintain maintenance supply inventories.</li><li>Assisting the plant personnel when needed (i.e. short-staffed on production).</li><li>Ensure the work area is clean and tidy and the inventory storage area is organized and be responsible for ensuring all tools and parts that you use to get put away.</li><li>Responsible for reporting any dust emissions as well as all fluid spills or leaks from any equipment or the MR plant.</li><li>The mill service vehicles have top priority over any job, you are required to assist where and when needed.</li><li>Required to maintain in good standing any welding or trade certificates.</li><li>Know, Understand and follow Plant, torch, equipment or other lockout procedures. Each equipment unit now has an individual lockout procedure that must be followed.</li><li>When needed or requested; talk to any suppliers pertaining to part ordering for quote purposes or fulfillment of part orders.</li></ul>
