May provide guidance and direction to other Talen Energy employees to support production of high quality, timely and cost-effective solutions to technical problems.Primary Responsibilities<ul><li>Provide in-depth technical expertise to develop, manage and implement activities and programs the improve equipment reliability.</li><li>Develop and implement trending and monitoring plans for assigned systems/components to ensure safe reliable equipment performance.<ul><li>Demonstrate ownership of assigned systems/components, and advocates for system performance improvement opportunities.</li></ul></li><li>Provide technical expertise and consultation through direct involvement to identify and resolve equipment and system problems.<ul><li>Uses existing procedures to investigate, evaluate and assist in producing technically correct and cost-effective designs or recommendations that solve ongoing problems.</li><li>Directly interface with other workgroups (i.e. Operations, Maintenance) and Station Leadership regarding system issues and improvement initiatives.</li><li>Builds relationships that will facilitate knowledge transfer, cross functional knowledge of related work groups, and ability to present work products effectively.</li><li>Assists in a variety of topics including developing procedures, improved design recommendations or new or better equipment purchase recommendations.</li></ul></li><li>Routinely review industry operating experience and collaborate with industry peers and forums and effectively apply 'lessons learned' for improving system performance and reliability.</li><li>Provide technical input to support Failure Modes Analysis and Troubleshooting activities.</li></ul>Basic Qualifications<ul><li>High School diploma or equivalent and at least one of the following<ul><li>Three-years work experience with instruments, controls or electronics as found in a power plant facility.  Should include at least six months of related technical training.  Relevant military experience, such as Navy or Air Force instrumentation technician experience will satisfy this requirement.</li><li>Bachelor's Degree in electronics, electrical, or Instrumentation &amp; Controls engineering.</li></ul></li></ul>Note: You will have an opportunity to add attachments to your application.
