Additionally, the role requires providing support to other nuclear plants within the Duke Energy Nuclear Fleet as needed.Responsibilities<ul><li>Serve as the fire protection subject matter expert, ensuring compliance with NFPA codes, regulatory requirements, fleet/site procedures, and plant licensing standards.</li><li>Provide engineering and field support to identify, analyze, and resolve fire protection program issues.</li><li>Support Fire PRAs, NSCA updates, surveillance testing, pre-plans, impairment monitoring, and engineering calculations.</li><li>Prepare for and support NRC, INPO, NEIL, NSRB, and NOS inspections and audits.</li><li>Monitor fire protection system performance, review engineering changes, respond to industry operating experience, and represent the company professionally.</li></ul>Basic/Required QualificationsSenior Engineer <ul><li>Bachelor of Science or master’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.</li><li>At least 6 years of engineering experience.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to complete work with minimal supervision.</li></ul>Engineer III  <ul><li>Bachelor of Science or master’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.</li><li>Minimum of 4 years of engineering experience.</li></ul>Desired Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor of Science in Fire Protection from an ABET-accredited program.</li><li>At least three years of experience in Fire Protection Engineering responsibilities.</li><li>Nuclear Power Plant experience</li><li>Registered Professional Engineer</li></ul>Working Conditions<ul><li>Hybrid – Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable commute to the designated Duke Energy facility.
