We have deployed over 650 units across 13 different countries globally.   About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Service &amp; Repair Technician to join our Operations team. This role combines hands-on electrical expertise with service coordination and technical leadership responsibilities. You will play a key role in the assembly, installation, troubleshooting, testing, and maintenance of our power systems while supporting customers, production teams, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate has strong industrial electrical experience, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to quality, safety, and customer service.  What You’ll Do:  Service Leadership <ul><li>Coordinate and support service activities to ensure timely resolution of customer issues.</li><li>Respond to customer inquiries and troubleshoot technical problems.</li><li>Assist with service scheduling, planning, logistics, and resource allocation.</li><li>Coordinate with Sales, Logistics, and Operations to support customer requirements.</li><li>Maintain service records, repair documentation, and standard operating procedures.</li><li>Act as a senior technical resource for service technicians and production team members. </li></ul>  Electrical Assembly, Installation &amp; Troubleshooting <ul><li>Assemble, install, maintain, and repair electrical and mechanical components used in industrial power systems and battery energy storage systems.</li><li>Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications.</li><li>Troubleshoot electrical and electronic system issues and implement effective solutions.</li><li>Perform testing, commissioning, inspections, and preventive maintenance activities.</li><li>Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with applicable codes and standards, including the Canadian Electrical Code </li></ul> Product Development &amp; Continuous Improvement <ul><li>Support engineering-to-production transitions for new and improved products.</li><li>Participate in prototype assembly, testing, validation, and evaluation activities.</li><li>Assist with inspection and testing of incoming electrical and electronic components.</li><li>Identify and implement opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and service processes. </li></ul> Team Collaboration <ul><li>Promote a positive, collaborative, and safety-focused work environment.</li><li>Support training, mentoring, and knowledge sharing within the team.</li><li>Lead by example in maintaining high standards of workmanship, quality, and customer service.  </li></ul>What You'll Bring Required Qualifications <ul><li>5+ years of industrial electrical experience, including field service and customer-facing responsibilities.</li><li>Strong knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code.</li><li>Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, drawings, and wiring diagrams.</li><li>Experience troubleshooting industrial electrical and control systems.</li><li>Experience working with generators, power systems, switchgear, power distribution equipment, or similar technologies.</li><li>Valid driver's license and ability to travel to customer sites as required </li></ul>Preferred Qualifications <ul><li>Experience leading, mentoring, or coordinating technical teams.</li><li>Experience supporting field service operations.</li><li>Experience in manufacturing, production, or custom equipment environments.</li><li>Experience working with engineering teams on product development, prototyping, or product improvement initiatives</li></ul>  What Makes You Successful <ul><li>Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Excellent communication and customer service abilities.</li><li>Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>High attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.</li><li>Collaborative mindset with a willingness to support team success and continuous improvement. </li></ul> Location:  This is a role working out of our Vancouver, BC office  Wage: $30-55 CAD per hour, dependent on the person's experience Why Choose Portable Electric:    At Portable Electric, you’ll have the opportunity to work with a talented team, building innovative power solutions while taking an impactful role in both production and service operations.
