The Flex Analyst is a front-office role within the portfolio management team. You will approach your work with a commercial lens: how does it generate PnL, and what risks does it introduce or mitigate? You will work directly on transactions and portfolio decisions with tangible commercial impact. Your core activities will include: <ul><li>Analysing asset performance and relevant market dynamics, from historical revenues to short-term trading strategies and long-term market scenarios. The focus is on flex assets, above all BESS, but also on the balancing behavior of our large portfolio of RES assets and understanding the interplay between these balancing costs and flex revenues.   </li><li>Translating this analysis into commercial strategy: defining products, pricing approaches, and how we structure flexibility purchase agreements (FPAs) </li><li>Building and improving pricing tools that are used across a large pipeline of transactions </li><li>Deep-diving into the risk/return profile of individual deals, supporting pricing and structuring decisions on high-value transactions </li></ul>In addition, you will: <ul><li>Track and challenge the short-term optimisation of our flex portfolio, ensuring performance meets commercial expectations </li><li>Develop a deep understanding of how these assets generate value, and feed this back into our modelling and valuation, in close cooperation with our Pricing &amp; Analytics team (who has responsibility for the overall modelling and valuation framework) </li></ul>What the work looks like: <ul><li>Highly analytical, working with data and models across short-term markets and long-term scenarios </li><li>Direct exposure to large transactions and portfolios, with tangible impact on PnL </li><li>Bridging modelling and commercial decision-making—turning complex analytics into actionable insights for valuation, deal structuring and pricing, and trading and optimisation</li></ul>Requirements of the Role: Front-office roles in Portfolio Management are at the same time: <ol><li>Extremely diverse  </li><li>Very demanding </li><li>Central to the business </li><li>One of the most rewarding </li></ol>To be successful as Flex Analyst, you will need to: <ul><li>Think commercially: you focus on value creation, understand risk, and are comfortable making and defending decisions under uncertainty </li><li>Take ownership: you go beyond the task at hand, proactively develop ideas, and step up when things get difficult </li><li>Are highly analytical: you enjoy working with data, models, and complex problems—and finding clear, practical solutions </li><li>Bring strong judgement and structure: you prioritise what matters,  keep things simple where possible, while still maintaining attention to detail </li><li>Collaborate effectively: you build strong relationships, challenge constructively, and influence others—even in tough discussions </li></ul>
