Brief Description:
An Electrical Engineer with GreenPower Motor Company is responsible for the design of new product components up to full production. This includes specification reviews, development program timelines and reports, design reviews, simple mechanical designs, documentation packages, preproduction builds and transfers to production. This position will also be responsible for technical support of vehicles post production. This position requires creativity, driven by detail, implementation skills, conceptualization and the ability to thrive in fast paced environment.
- Assist in the testing, fabrication, application, installation, and repair of electromechanical products and systems.
- Supports production by providing quality testing, product design, and product development.
- Design and program system multiplex of the vehicle.
- Develop alternative designs.
- Utilize blueprints, wiring diagrams to complete assigned projects.
- Assists and oversees the fabrication and installation of components to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design.
- Designs and evaluates electrical systems, components, and products through knowledge of electricity and materials to make appropriate recommendations to modify designs or repair equipment as needed.
- Calculate and choose the most optimized drive train systems for vehicles.
- Survey electrical systems, circuits, and plans.
- Oversee production, maintenance, and repairs to obtain an optimum process of machines and equipment.
- Identify and recommend system improvements to improve overall technical performance.
- Perform other duties as required.

Requirements
Requirements and Core Competencies:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 2 years working with electrical test systems in related field (Automotive preferred).
- Experience with testing EV battery systems preferred.
- Understanding of Electrical Vehicle Systems.
- Understanding of Vehicle charging systems is a plus.
- Experience with working on real time operating systems is preferred.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to learn processes quickly and adapt to process changes and implement changes.
- Constantly analyzing and implementing procedures and systems to maximize operating efficiencies.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suites, Google Suites, and other related software programs.
Physical Requirements:
Considerable physical activity with prolonged periods of sitting and computer work. May require handling of objects that can weigh up to 50 pounds.
Working Environment:
Work is normally performed in an office work environment.
Other environments may include:
- Warehouse
- Vehicles
- Outdoors
