Brief Description:

A Purchasing Manager with GreenPower Motor Company oversees and directs the activities of the purchasing department. This position requires creativity driven by detail analysis, implementation skills, conceptualization and the ability to thrive in a fast pace environment. 

  • Process orders and maintains records of all transactions, purchase requests, quotes, purchase orders and acknowledgments.
  • Assists in overseeing and maintaining inventory.
  • Analyze forecast, actual demand, schedules and inventory and exercise judgement to influence manufacturing and buying decisions. 
  • Conduct and document procurement activities and negotiations to support buying decisions.
  • Search, evaluate, and approve new suppliers as needed.
  • Responsible for researching and identifying alternative suppliers if needed.
  • Develop strategic supplier and vendor relationships.
  • Resolve potential material disruption issues and escalates needed.
  • Determine material requirement for the manufacturing production schedules, engineering, validation and process. 
  • Review, prioritize, schedule and expedite the delivery of material to meet target dates and prevent stock shortages.
  • Resolve inquiries on unclear packing slips and invoices to insure prompt availability of materials and timely payment to vendors.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

GreenPower is seeking an organized, diligent individual who will contribute to the efficiency of the company's growing team.

  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in procurement.
  • Experience in manufacturing preferred. 
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Excellent verbal communication and writing skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and organization skills.
  • Highly organized, strongly self-motivated, with the ability to multi-task activities with shifting priorities. 
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate matrixed resources and drive measurable results.
  • Ability to learn company specific systems to track deadlines, submittals, and follow up.
  • Computer skills using MS Office Suite, GSuite.
  • Excellent interpersonal and telephone communication skills are required. 

Physical Requirements:

Considerable physical activity with prolonged periods of sitting and computer work. May require handling of objects that can weigh up to 25 lbs. 


Working Environment:

Work is normally performed in an interior/office work environment. Other environments may include: warehouse, vehicles and outdoors.

Salary Description:

$68,640 to $90,000
