Climate Power is an independent strategic communications and paid media operation focused on building the political will and public support for bold climate action. Founded by the Center for American Progress Action Fund, League of Conservation Voters, and Sierra Club, Climate Power integrates hard-hitting research, polling, state and national earned media, digital and paid media to influence the national conversation, embolden leaders to take immediate, bold climate action, and expose climate deniers and their oil and gas lobby allies. 

About This Role
Climate Power is seeking a highly motivated Manager to support the organization’s climate urgency campaign. The Manager will report to the Senior Advisor, Climate Urgency and work with key stakeholders across the organization to drive the connection of extreme weather to climate action and clean energy solutions, counter disinformation from climate deniers and mobilize key voices to spur future action.  


Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead project management for Climate Power’s climate urgency campaign, including managing organization-wide plans around key moments and rollouts.  
  • Support Climate Power’s work internally and work with Senior Advisor to ensure that Climate Power's key opposition narratives, products, and research are being utilized across the organization.
  • Draft talking points, memos, partner updates and other materials as assigned. 
  • Work with Climate Power’s climate urgency team to track and maintain outreach efforts to political and advocacy partners.
  • Support daily meetings with the climate urgency team. 
  • Coordinate across Climate Power’s departments to implement the climate urgency campaign. 
  • Represent Climate Power with external partners, as needed, at the direction of the Senior Advisor. 
  • Work across Climate Power’s departments and with key consultants to implement events and other activities. 
  • Maintain and update tracking systems and budgets.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as need and capacity dictate.

Essential Qualifications

  • 5 years of relevant prior work experience in political partnerships,  organizing, or communications.
  • Experience in managing complex projects across different departments or with multiple stakeholders. 
  • Must be able to work independently but also collaboratively with diverse groups of people, communities, and partners.
  • Ability to communicate information in a clear, compelling manner, be it verbally, graphically, or in writing.
  • Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented,  able to multitask and meet deadlines without sacrificing quality of work.
  • Willingness to stay up to date on best practices and trends relative to the work and projects in their purview.
  • Strong strategic and writing skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Workplace, and content management systems.

Location & Hours of Operations
Climate Power is a remote-first organization based in Washington, DC. This position can be located anywhere in the United States, but must be able to work Monday - Friday 9 am - 6 pm EST, plus weekends and evenings as the work dictates.

Our Hiring Timeline and Process
We are accepting applications on a rolling basis and will continue to interview until the position is filled (posting will remain up until the position is filled).  Our interview process generally involves 3 rounds of interviews, ranging in length from 30-60 minutes. All interviews will be conducted via Google Meets or Zoom. Successful candidates who move forward in the hiring process will be invited to complete a skills assessment activity (for which they will receive compensation) and will undergo a vetting process, including reference and background checks to ensure cultural and political alignment.
