Hydrosat is a space and data analytics company building a new Earth Observation constellation and software to unlock the power of thermal infrared imagery. Our mission is to capture and deliver high spatio-temporal resolution thermal infrared data, currently not available from other sources, to provide insights that benefit the environment, enhance food and water security, and serve other critical applications.
We are seeking an experienced UX Designer for our digital platforms serving satellite data customers and geospatial data insights to users around the world. You will work closely with the product managers, engineers and customers to deliver a delightful experience to our users by designing efficient, user-friendly, and easy to understand web and mobile applications.
What you’ll do
- Lead the design and development of user interfaces for web and mobile applications
- Working with the product managers and customer success team, learn customer personas, habits, needs and get a clear understanding of problems to solve
- Create the layout, flow, and interactivity of products and functionality
- Conduct user research and test prototypes with users to evaluate their effectiveness, adjust the designs based on user feedback
- Work with product managers, UI designers, marketing, technical writers, and software developers
- Communicate the user experience with wireframes, flow diagrams, storyboards, mockups, or prototypes
Requirements
The successful candidate will be a self-starter with high levels of energy and the drive to work within a small, fast-paced, high-growth environment. Specific attributes include:
- 5+ years of experience as a UX Designer, UI Designer, or Interaction Designer
- Strong portfolio demonstrating your experience in designing intuitive and user-centric products
- Expertise in UX design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar
- Proven ability to design for both web and mobile platforms, with a focus on responsive design
- Experience in conducting user research and usability testing to validate design decisions
- Strong understanding of interaction design, information architecture, and visual design principles
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
- Proficiency in HTML/CSS and an understanding of how designs translate into code
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience with design systems and the ability to scale them across multiple products
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
- Knowledge of front-end development or a technical background in UI/UX development
- Experience working in industries such as SaaS, e-commerce, or mobile applications
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design principles
